The Royal Suite was not the best place for exhibits relating to the creation of Disneyland, and the Disneyland Opera House may not be either. However, most of the concerns people have expressed relate to the fact that the suite, itself, is no longer accessible to most guests.
This is great news. The opera house has already housed things similar to the Gallery for years anyway. So, this will fit in pretty good! I think it's a good decision. I just hope they leave Walt's office intact!
I haven't seen Walt's office in there for a long time. Is it still behind the exhibits for the 50th??
What about Mr. Lincoln??? The Opera House is an odd place for the Gallery, I think. But, I'd be happy to just have the gallery back. If it can't be where it used to be...and it can't....I'd be happy to see it somewhere in the park.
The Opera House may be a good choice. yeah, it will be odd having the Gallery and Disneyana close to each other (it's kind of like throwing Village Haus, Hungry Bear, and Tomorrowland Terrace next to each other), but it at least means having more unique merchandise on Main St. It would be easier to buy the pictures and stuff on the way out instead of the park than the way it used to be with the old Gallery's limted hours (duing off seasons and stuff).
I don't know about this. The charm of the old gallery was its prime location. You actually had to want to go to the Gallery to get there. There was a certain classiness about its location, a mystique. Just plopping it on Main Street in the middle of everything makes it lose its significance. While I will still go, it won't feel the same. Hopefully after the YOMD2, Disney will decide to make the balcolny and former Gallery accessible to guests once again. It was truly a unique experience, especially at night.
How is it losing it's significance? It doesn't matter where it's at. Main Street makes a lot of sense too, instead of plopping it in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland. I prefer it being on Main Street--as the former area wasn't original for the Gallery anyways. People will nitpick just about anything...
