God spoke to me last night during Fantasmic!...

... in the form of a burning bush!

So last night I went to the second showing of Fantasmic! The show started and the mist screens went up, and the pyro shot off in the air.

It was quite breezy last night and the embers were not falling exactly in the places they should be. The pyro stopped, and the mist screens were still going and behind it you could see, in the bush lining the shoreline of the ROA on the left-hand side of the mill a faint glowing which looked like the ember had not yet fully gone out. No more than a minute later it looked like the entire bush was on fire! (sorry I have no photos)

I want to say I was extremely impressed how it was handled. After the mists screens went down you could see a CM dressed in black with a fire extinguisher who put it out entirely. A soft spothight shone on the area to help him see. But the amazing thing is that this all happened without the show stopping for a single second!

I really have to hand it. With all of these posts for and against Fantasmic! whether it is themed well or not, this is truly amazing how it was handled. I was thinking that the show was going to be cancelled but it went on without a hitch.

I want to thank all of the Disney CM's who work this show for taking care of this in such a calm and professional way! Thank you!

With all the negative posts lately regarding Fantasmic! and other negative posts that appear on here every now and then I must say this about Disney. Even if any given show or attraction at Disneyland is terrible or the themeing is just not right, I can always find something that is truly magical or truly special about it.

I really want to thank Disney and especially all of those involved with Fantasmic! for turning what could have been an miserable evening into something quite enjoyable!

Great story! I wish I was there to see it...
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Yes, please if one of us who may have been there has pics it would be nice for the others to see.

I did have my camera phone but I didn't bother because it takes lousy pictures even in bright daylight. It was dark when this was happening and you could see it from behind the mist screen so it would have to be a very good camera to be able to capture it.

But who knows maybe someone out there has one...

I think they might have cut the pyro back a little bit perhaps at the ending but it wasn't noticeable at all. They still had the spinners on the river and on the Twain, and some that shot up in the air too (but I think they didn't do that part as much as normal but it was normal enough to where I couldn't really tell).

Haha, that is so cool! Well, at least it could be in the spur of the moment.

And yes, Disney is very good a handling stuff like that.

Too bad the flames didn't get a little more out of control and burn out the pirates.

Ok there are so many other things that catch on fire in the park. Remember/Believe catch places fire all the time, and its handled like Fantasmic was.

Maybe it should stick around long enough to (inevitably) burn down Pirate's Lair. Then get rid of it. Two mis-themed attractions at war with one another for the possession (or ultimate destruction) of Tom Sawyer Island?
