January 5th - Weather keeps crowds away

The last day of my vacation was this past Saturday and, I have to see, it was the least crowded I had ever seen Disneyland. I think all the reports of bad weather in So Cal (even on national news!) must have kept people from coming.

No lines to get into the park at 10am.

The wait board didn't change too much throughout the day.


Where are the crowds?


I don't know!!!


The usually packed Rivers of America.


Indy didn't even queue outside.


No one at the Matterhorn.



Besides the weather being a little cold, it was a great day to see the park. It didn't rain as predicted, but it was cloudy all day. We practically walked on everything. I expect 10 minute waits for Indy and Space Mountain very early in the morning, but they consistently stayed short throughout the day. The only ride which seemed to have decent waits was the subs, which is to be expected. Even Peter Pan was only about 15 minutes! Main Street is usually packed before the parade, but we were able to walk right up at the last minute and get a great view. The same was true for Fantasmic! - minimal waits even for the first showing.

I'm thinking the lack of crowds were a combination of the weather and it being the start of the "off season," but either way, it was a great day!

Nice. Yeah, the bad weather reports and the actual bad weather kept me indoors all weekend, for the most part.

I, also, was there Saturday and it was great! No rain, no crowds, walked onto Space multiple times...
Now if the Cove Bar had been open, my day would have been perfect!

We went yesterday and it was pretty much of the same situation, hardly anybody. Man, this was the best time I have had in a long time, as far as going on attractions w/o wait times. It was the best.

It was a fun day on a saturday as I took this as an opportunity to enjoy the park and I had so much fun. Great pictures Its too bad I didn't see you there. Thanks for sharing.

That is actually quite respectable, considering how dead in general the park was!

I, too, was one of the puddle jumpers on Saturday, the 5th. I got inside DL about 11:15 a.m., and the crowds had picked up considerably from the above-photos. I entered the parking structure a little before 11 and parked on Daisy - but waaaay over in the north building in 4F.

Just a few folks ahead of me at the entry, but once inside, the crowd picked up on Main Street - enough so that I got whammed by a stroller as I tried to dodge another one coming right at me - both piloted by chattering, swiveled-headed moms!

Went directly to Cafe Orleans for lunch on the patio ... was the only one out there. But when I left about 12:15, it was filling up.

No waits for HM, the Train or IASM - (where I had the real thrill of being the only person in the boat!) But, when I was heading out of the Park, via Fantasyland, around 2 p.m., it was the regular 30-minute wait for Peter Pan. Go figure!

DTD was very, very busy. Many stores were having major sales. No sales at Build-a-Bear and Libby Lu, but both were jammed.

A loverly day! No rain until much later in the afternoon. But that would have made it even more special.

Anybody go on Sunday, the 6th, when it really poured from the skies?

as dan-tasmic once said you have not experienced disneyland until you get rammed with a stroller lol. But im glad you had fun rkkm.
