As it has been awhile since I've posted an update, I thought I would focus on the transition from the holiday decor of the past few months back to normal Disneyland. As it has been a few months since the park has been without pumpkins, lights, and trees, it's always a bit of a shock to walk in after the second week of January to find everything pretty much back the way it was in September.
To begin with, I thought I would show a bit of the transition from the Christmas Mickey Floral at the entrance area to the new floral landscaping that arrived this week.
Here is the Mickey Floral as it looked a couple weeks ago:
Here is the work that was frantically being done last Monday:
As I'm a bit taller than most, I just had to grab a shot over the fence. : I must say that I was surprised that ALL of the landscaping comes out including the grass:
And here is what greeted me this morning:
And WHO is gracing the area just above Mickey's ear?
I must say Tinkerbell is a HUGE improvement over the Dreams yuckiness that went in there last Spring. I really think this new design looks wonderful and Tink nicely accents the yellows in the "pixie dust" of the floral design:
I'm not sure how new this next item is, but I did not notice it on Monday, so I'm thinking the work must have taken place since then. For all of you who were concerned that the stairs in front of the Dream Suite were going away, it appears they are coming back, but the railing will be new and improved.
Here's what it looks like so far:
Quite a bit of work was also taking place on the roof:
