Matterhorn Basketball Court Revealed

Now, this video is fairly recent, but it has been up on YouTube since last year. I searched for it here, but couldn't find it. So, just in case you haven't seen a good look at the basketball half-court inside the Matterhorn, I went ahead and posted this.

Previously, the only glimpse I've ever seen of the basketball hoop was that old photo with Vlade Divac. I have no idea where this video is from, but it's an official Disney production. The title on the book shown says "Disney Fact or Fiction Walt Disney Imagineering" and the logo on the bottom right-hand corner said "Disney Travel On Demand."

Indeed, you can see how the top of the mountain comes up over the platform on top so they are protected while they are up there...pretty sure they are tied on also, just in case.

Sure. When he gets to the top he raises a flag and streamers come out of the mountain. Then he somehow disappears into the mountain and it's time for the parade!

It's from a digital cable On Demand channel called Journey TV which has a Disney Travel section.

The Disney Travel On Demand channel has these short "Fact or Fiction" segments. There are also short programs about rehearsing a parade at WDW called "Making Magic", "Insider" segments about Expedition Everest and the Disney Vacation Club and a few other promotional videos.

If you have On Demand on your digital cable system look for Journey TV.

Check out that video at about 2:27 into it. The bobsleds go by as a set of 3 cars hooked together. Did they ever run them that way on a regular basis?
