    Re: Disneyland Rides

    I'll use the following system:

    * - Only worth riding once
** - Pretty fun, but not the best
    *** - Definitely recommended
**** - The best of the best

    [**]Disney Railroad
    (for backstage glimpses!)
    [?]Main Street Cinema[*]Astro Orbitor
    [**]Autopia
    (fun to do once)
    [**]Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
    [** ]Disney Monorail
    (more backstage)
    [?]Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
    [**]"Honey, I Shrunk The Audiance"
(not as bad as everyone says it is)
    [?]Innoventions
    [********* ]Space Mountain
(can you tell I like it?)
[*** ]Star Tours (the ride's getting old, but it's still fun)
    [?]Alice in Wonderland
[?]Casey Jr. Circus Train[*]Dumbo the Flying Elephant[*]It's a Small World
    (love it or hate it...)
[*]King Arthur Carrousel (great, for a carousel...)
    [**]Mad Tea Party
    [***]Matterhorn Bobsleds
    [**]Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
    [?]Peter Pan's Flight[*]Pinocchio's Daring Journey[*]Snow White's Scary Adventures
    [?]Storybook Land Canal Boats
    [****]Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
    [*?]Tom Sawyers Island
(I haven't been to the updated version)
    [?]Mark Twain Riverboat
    [?]Sailing Ship Columbia
    [**]Enchanted Tiki Room
    [*********]Indiana Jones Adventure
(doesn't get any better than this!)
    [***]Jungle Cruise
    [**]Tarzan's Treehouse
(just for giving you elevated views of the park)
    [****]The Haunted Mansion
    [****]Pirates of the Caribbean
    [***]Splash Mountain
(a little creepy-cutesy, but a fun drop and sentimental value)
[?]Davy Crokett's Explorer[*]The Many Adventures of Whinne the Pooh
    [?]Gadget's Go Coaster
    [**]Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
(not worth the wait, but fun nevertheless)

Indy and Space are my two favorites, bar none. On the thrill side, Big Thunder and the Matterhorn are close, and on the story/thematic side, the Haunted Mansion and Pirates are simply unbeatable. I've found, though, that when I ride most or all of my favorite rides in one day, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The attractions are mostly unrelated to each other, yet their inherent Disneylandishness adds up over the day, making me enjoy the park all the more. But stressing to get in every single ride is counterproductive.

    Re: Disneyland Rides

Using a five-star scale, being 27 years old.

    [***]Disney Railroad =
A ton of fun on a warm day, and it gets you off your feet quickly while you anticipate your next event.
[**]Main Street Cinema = Not bad, nostalgic, wish it was a real theater though that showed the cartoons and had seating and popcorn.
[*]Astro Orbitor = It's Dumbo with bad theming and a longer line. If they would put it back in the rocket jet area this would be a 3 star, because it's more fun up high.
    [*]Autopia = Go-karts, yeah!
[**** ]Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters = A lot of fun, actually lasts a while, good music and scenery and theming to get you into it, and high reride value as you beat your score, look for hidden bonuses and turn the omnimover every time your nephew's about to hit something.
[**]Disney Monorail = Convenient transportation, not really a ride
[** ]Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage = It's 20,000 leagues with Nemo. Nothing grand, and the line is long.
[***]"Honey, I Shrunk The Audiance" = Caveat, the first time. When you don't know what's coming next you can jump. After, you just kind of wait for it. Still, good effects if cheesy dialogue.
    [* ]Innoventions = Skip it
[***** ]Space Mountain = Must do, fast, fun experience with great theme.
[*** ]Star Tours = low reride appeal, once is enough or I feel naseous. Still a lot of fun one time through.
[** ]Alice in Wonderland = No real wait, fun for the kids
[** ]Casey Jr. Circus Train = See above
[ **]Dumbo the Flying Elephant = More of a wait, but it's a great movie and, again, fun for kids.
[* ]It's a Small World = It's simply too long for me. Nice, happy idea but I'm in Disneyland, I don't want to put that much time into hearing the same song over, and over, and over
[***]King Arthur Carrousel = It's probably one of the better Carrousels I've ever ridden, and if you like that kind of ride, you're all good.
[*** ]Mad Tea Party = Great for couples, the wheel in the middle makes it fun. Would be four but the queue fills up for ages.
[**** ]Matterhorn Bobsleds = Beautiful setting and theming, fun fast ride. Cons: your legs ache in the back seat and some really rough track.
[* ]Mr. Toad's Wild Ride = No emotional connection with Wind in the Willows, so it feels like cardboard figures waving at me for 5 minutes. The outside of the building is great
[*** ]Peter Pan's Flight = Love the movie and the flying ship conveyance. Pleasant dark ride.
[** ]Pinocchio's Daring Journey = See Alice in Wonderland
    [** ]Snow White's Scary Adventures = Ditto
[** ]Storybook Land Canal Boats = Ditto
[***** ]Big Thunder Mountain Railroad = Got it all, theming, fast, fun, great roller coaster that doesn't make you sick but gives you something to enjoy. Love the old west.
[** ]Tom Sawyers Island = After a bunch of time in line or waiting around, it's fun to be able to jump and explore. The pirates are wreaking havoc with the theming, but still pretty grand.
[*** ]Mark Twain Riverboat = When the sun goes down it's 4 stars. Romantic, leisurely break and pleasant park vistas on the water.
[** ]Sailing Ship Columbia = Just can't rate it the same as the riverboat, although they're basically the same.
[*** ]Enchanted Tiki Room = Caveat, if you buy a Pineapple Whip before going in. Then you get good ice cream and a relaxing music show. Loses at least one star without the whip.
[***** ]Indiana Jones Adventure = The must do attraction for me, the effects, ride, concept, queue, everything is engineered brilliantly. Usually my first stop in Disneyland, and often the last as well.
[*** ]Jungle Cruise = This can be a two star if you have a lame skipper or a four star if you have a good skipper and ride at night. Ride it in the evening when it's dark, the animals feel much more real, the air is pleasant and the jungle is more imaginative. Usually fun, but can be meh or awesome.
[* ]Tarzan's Treehouse = Swiss Family was what I grew up on, so that's my bias. But the scenes look pretty bad in my opinion, feels slapped together.
[***** ]The Haunted Mansion = Ride this, and for the love, be quiet. Lately I can't even hear the host talking or enjoy the beginning as much. Let yourself be spooked and you won't be disappointed. Teenagers love to go in there and say loudly things like "This is boring" or "this isn't scary." Go watch Saw X, leave the cool spooky building alone.
[**** ]Pirates of the Caribbean = Lost a star by adding movie elements, it was better as a generic cruise through the Spanish Main. Jack Sparrow should have been an entirely new attraction, pirates shouldn't have been changed. Still, classic, good ambience, fun ride.
[**** ]Splash Mountain = You have to fast pass this. Three drops and singing animals are not worth 90 minutes in line. The last drop is sensational, but fast pass this please.
[** ]Davy Crokett's Explorer = I prefer to canoe on lakes in the wilderness, but this is still okay. The Indian village and far side of TSI, together with a good guide, can make it fun.
[** ]The Many Adventures of Whinne the Pooh = All together now, fun for kids and easy ride. Nothing special.
[*** ]Gadget's Go Coaster = Surprisingly fun given how short and simple it is. Good for prepping the young ones for the mountains.
[*** ]Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin = A lot of fun, but a little too short of a ride for the wait. Fastpass.

We usually end up riding everything once on our trips, but those with 1 or 2 stars are generally only ridden as we walk past and notice that there is no wait at all. Then we'll hop on if we aren't in a hurry to anywhere in particular.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
