Re: New Disneyland Dream Suite signage - What do you Think?

I'm surprised no one has said that it's probably the former Disney Gallery sign repainted.

Re: New Disneyland Dream Suite signage - What do you Think?

With (almost) everyone not happy with the Dream Suite or the sign it seems that to say something positive would not be looked well upon. But no matter, I'm all about positivity!

Personally, I like the sign and I think the dream suite is a great idea. Even if no one on this board gets to "WIN" the chance to sleep there, imagine the time that other families will have that DON'T get to go to the park all the time, let alone afford to stay in a DL Resort hotel. The parents will have a blast, the kids will love the fact that they get to sleep in the park and a good time will be had by all. This is a chance of a lifetime that not many will be able to experience. The sign is nicely done and just understated enough for NOS.

And as for the old Disneyland sign... I liked it. Castle silhouette and all.

Personally, I don't like they are using the "Generic" Castle Logo.... Heck it is the DISNEYLAND Dream Suite, at least they could use an image of the Sleeping Beauty Castle!
Ehh. At least the 'D' is in the correct Disneyland font instead of the WDW script.

It's fine. Looks classy no matter what we all think about the dream suite. Count our blessings, it could have been horrible.

True, I will concede that it could have been much, MUCH worse. Thank you for not installing DreamClouds all over the entrance...

LOL! I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it.

But I like the sign. It's nice.

You don't get the point: the logo on the suite sign is a castle designed to resemble the castles at all "Disney Parks" that they've been using on boring and uncreative merchandise for the past couple of years... it's purpose is to allow them to use the same merch and logos at both Disneyland and WDW (andIi guess the rest of the parks too), which is lazy, cheap, and bad show.

The castle on the old Disneyland sign, which not a depiction of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, is only found on that sign and was specially designed for Disneyland.

The castle silhouette is certainly trivial in the grand scheme of things, but it represents the attention that is being paid by the execs, and is a bit of a measure of their respect for each park's individual identity.

That said, I don't mind most of the sign; it looks very elegant... I just don't like the blue. It sticks out from NOS, when the previously used Teal for the Gallery sign matched perfectly. I don't care about the stupid YOAMD being blue; it's only supposed to be around another year anyway. But I assume they'll keep the suite, along with it's signage, and I hope they change it to teal to match in the long haul.

The golden letters in the wrought iron (which I haven't seen yet) won't bother me too much, I don't think. I mean, I'd rather they remain green, but I suspect they'll still look more or less like ornamental ironwork, and most people still won't notice it.

Re: New Disneyland Dream Suite signage - What do you Think?

As nitpickers go with are without peers, and I think I am pretty fair nitpicker, but I am not bothered by the sign or the generic castle. As others have stated they could have done much worse. Just look at the sign, turn and look at the pirates on TSI as see how bad it could get.

Re: New Disneyland Dream Suite signage - What do you Think?

You know, I wasn't even expecting the Dream Suite to have a sign. Like the comments that the WD and RD were "hidden," and like Club 33, my head was defaulting to "hidden" for the suite as well (of course not to us geeks, but guests who are that familiar with the lay of the (Disney)land). Nothing more low key than that.

But yeah, Disney Parks marketing and all that. I get it. Not thrilled with it, but I get it.
