the sign is fine. It does not bother me and I doubt I would give it a second look if I saw it in the park.

Who among us would be a conscientious objector if they won a night in the Dream Suite? Anyone? Would you, could you, turn it down based on your loyalty to the Gallery, Walt, and the American Way?

(This is my devil's advocate post. )

Not me! I'd leave the objections to the other thousands of guests passing by that sign, wondering what it is for and/or why they're being excluded.

Just me but I was certain they would put some clouds on it and some gold ribbon like everything else in the Million Years of Dream campaign! I'm just saying, for all the promotion they have done, the sign that this "GRAND PRIZE" reflects is really underwhelming.

I remember when the Park used to run the Pirates queue into a large semi-open area between the ride building and the Treehouse. That seemed to handle the traffic flow pretty well. However, that real estate was eventually taken over by the Indy queue.

For what it's worth, I personally prefer the current setup with the sunken queue.

I wonder if they have cast members outside the entrances because I would hate to see people try going up there and trying to sneek in and all, but they probably do though.

In reply to all Castle comments:

The castle used on this sign is more like Sleeping Beauty Castle than the YOMD generic castle. This is what makes the difference: The center part is clearly POINTED, as in it is triangular. This is clearly in reference to the design of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle. The YOMD Castle is not pointed, causing it to look more like Cinderella Castle. See below:

Certain images from MiceAge.com and, of course, DarkBeer's new photo.

The castle is clearly meant to be Disneyland's.

In addition, here is the logo from the 50th. This was also clearly Sleeping Beauty Castle:

Note the center part.

Now that one I don't like at all. It looks plasticy, shiny, and cheap. Like some gaudy Vegas honeymoon suite sign. And like some afterthought they just slapped up. Marketing must sure want Park Guests to know this thing is up there. Certainly not very classy or subtle.

Probably added for the winning family photo-op.

That sign would look far better if it didn't have the words "Disneyland", "Dream", or "Suite". A simple D with the castle logo would have been sufficient for that area.

Good post. It looks like the Castle on the Dream Suite sign is just a squished Sleeping Beauty Castle, huh?
