If I'm not mistaken, I don't think they have Fantasmic on those nights, but I could be wrong...

I was there on May 5th, 2005! and July 17, 2005!
The last time the Columbia was down for rehab was during Thanksgiving. Fantasmic was not running duing that time. The Columbia is too much a part of Fantasmic to leave out.
I've seen Fantasmic without the Mark Twain and it makes the ending very anticlimatic. Instead of all the characters waving scarfs on the boat, they all stand on the island and wave scarfs. It really feels like something is missing.
I've seen them "pushing" the Columbia during a rehab. Little boat in the back, everybody ducked down, like no one notices...
Hmm yeah I'd say the alternate ending isn't satisfying but what are they supposed to do?

I saw that ending a while back before the 50th and I laughed so hard, I didn't know that's what they did when the MT was in rehab.. I just thought they goofed or something. It was the funniest thing to me. But yes, it wasn't a very good ending to that great of a show.Originally Posted by Engination
