    Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results

Wow - look at the winner dishing it! I was going to say the same thing, but my little 9th place recognition didn't seem worthy of it!

I did find that it seemed like we kept seeing a lot of the same people once the Fantasyland AM rush was over - so a lot of the folks I'm seeing in PhotoMatt's pics are new to me too!
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

Anytime, sweetheart. And YOU, my dear, handling all the spotters schedules, were AMAZING!

Yeah, but talk to PhotoMatt about standing outside Screamin/King Tritons Carousel for hours on end, and not seeing anybody but me, with my video camera, taking video of Screamin' without any teams on it.

But Matt had a great attitude, as did all of the spotters. We all enjoyed it.

Hey, at least I got to ride stuff.

But seriously, for us, it felt like we kept on seeing the same 5 teams over and over again.

Of the three locations we had Spotters stationed for the 3 hour blocks of time, none of them saw anyone during the 3 hour time block.

The only attraction I experienced was Seasons of the Vine. I decided that after watching everyone else go in to watch it, I would take a break from my post and watch the film for the first time ever.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

We ate lunch with JJ and SS about 1sh at Taste Pilots. They had seen no teams up until then. I spotted two teams cruise by while we were eating.

We headed with them over to their next spot, A Bugs Land. There I saw three teams hitting those rides in sequence. So it was until 1:30ish before the teams started getting over to DCA.

There were teams earlier than that Matt. I posted earlier in the thread that Difrnt Drmrs were spotted in the park around 11:30 am. I think PhotoMatt saw a different team a little earlier than that.

Its funny how some teams worked their strategies. DifrntDrmrs was one of the teams I saw in IABL at 2ish.

And earlier in Fantasyland Michelle saw a bunch of teams pass by the dark rides around 10:30 ish when they had no lines.

Well, merkeykinton, I learned that the show is good cover from rainstorms, that the folks at the wine shop will sell you the expensive wine if you ask for their advice, that I hot pink Sharpies, and that Chuck O. is good company, especially when you have writing to do before the Awards Party.

But, the most important thing I learned was that no matter how many points Seasons of the Vine was worth, it still wasn't motivation for people to see that show.

When my team went, it was us, 2 people not in the rally, and Darkbeer.

There were about 70 teams registered, but two never showed up on game day, and a couple of the teams that registered didn't really compete (just wanted the stuff and to go to the awards party). So let's call it 65.

We could easily have signed up another 50 to 100 people but we were limited to 200.

    And those are the stats.
