Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
Wow, I can't believe we did so well! (I mean, heck yes we rule!!!) What a fun, tiring, painful and awesome day!!!!
Thank you to EVERYONE who did such hard work to make this possible! It was so much fun. Cannot wait for number 3!
Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
Curious - did any team get all the points in either park? We decided to just focus on DL and we got them all done but 2 (HISTA and 50th); we got to have lunch and my wife made it through the day (she was battling some bug all week!)
I think we smiled the entire day!

We did all but 2 in DCA (Muppets and ToT). We tried Muppets, but just missed the loading, and couldn't wait the entire preshow. And ToT just had too long a wait.

Ahhhhhhh yes - the possibilities.
But I digress. Back to the thread of the moment. We'll explore the possibility of a WDW Gumball Rally soon enough.
This was done at one of the MiceChat meets and it was a killer. 11 hours, 4 park, 2 water parks, Pleasure Island, Boardwalk, DTD, all the Resorts and all the DVC areas. You had to ride WDW transportation but you did the need to ride all the rides. If you knew the answer you could fill it out. There was something like 500 questions.
It took us 3 days to recover from that quest.

For everyone that was not there this is what happens when you don't rest after a race.
:))
Exactly, Katrina!
I am still tired. Yesterday was my mom's birthday so I got to bed after 10 which considering the weekend was way too late. I hope to go to bed early tonight but there are 101 things I have to do so we will see.
I was talking to Thrax (Spencer, who at 21 is the youngest member of the Pocket Rocket Rods) and even he is still exhausted. It was quite some weekend!
Hopefully when I see you again I will be more coherent! ;)

I'd have to double check. I don't think any team actually did all of the attractions in either park; however, several teams came within one or two at Disneyland.

Liz, I swear. It's the pasta!
Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
Do we know how many teams participated? I'd be curious to know that too. It sure seemed like a lot at the start, but my team, once we headed over to DCA, didn't see anyone for quite some time.
Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
alot participated and everyone started out with fantasyland.

We did every one at Disneyland (no lunch)

Really? Because I saw quite a few teams head for points east and west upon reaching the hub - obviously some were heading for Nemo or Space fastpasses. So, I wouldn't rush to make that assumption.
It would be nice to know how many teams there were - and the results of the family edition too - my mom, upon hearing how we did, first said "that's great!" followed by "out of how many?"
Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
Hey Gregg, when is the video going to be up?

I remember reading the family edition was canceled due to not enough entrants. And we only saw a few teams in Fantasyland at first. Not as many as we thought.
Re: Gumball Rally '08 Results
I think we might have been the first team in DCA! :)) We only saw 2 other teams while we were there!
