The story of the Ralliversary weekend as told by Fishbulb
I am late in posting this report about the big weekend of the Gumball Rally 2 event and the 3 year anniversary because, shortly after, I came down with a chest cold that took me out for a week. Well, better late than never, I decided to post my account. So sorry for the delay.
The snowcapped mountains indicate the frigid weather of early morning Rally day
January 26th. Gumball Rally 2 day. The weekend started early Saturday Morning. The teams were already line up at La Brea Bakery when I arrived with the coveted packets for the event. Little did I know that I would end up with what came to be know as the Ralliversary bug.
DTD in the morning
La Brea Bakery had kindly given us the use of the far end of their patio for teams to register and start their day. They were so accommodating.

"YOU MUST RIDES THE RIDE TO GET THE POINTS"
Rixter found a particularly strange angle to shoot from
The starting gun was fired and the teams dispersed. That is, except the alterna team who eventually pulled in a whopping 11 points with their particular strategy of not riding things.
Ride what?
I love Mtngrl
Monorail Man documents it all live
While the teams all bolted to Fantasyland Dusty got some coffee on Main Street and I got some fruit at Tomorowland Terrace after getting Space Fast Passes with Monorail Man. We all met back up at the Fantasia Gardens which, at the last event, served as command central for two simultaneous events.

Must walk, must walk

Before the day even got started the Matterhorn went 101. Some teams had to plan accordingly.
Brokedown Mountain
Circarama and Tigerlilly showed up and, hearing that the Matterhorn was about to come back up, Tigerlilly and I hopped in line for a rough spin around the mountain.
Okay isn't Tigerlilly just beautiful? And she is such a sweetheart too.
AAAA WATER
When I returned I found that the lovely Widow Bessler had arrived and Dusty and myself wanted to give her a tour of Tom Sawyers Island since she had never been there.

Dusty ran MiceChat Central during our trip to the island
Another team having a blast
We crossed the park and hoped aboard a raft. Our original intention was to find a great hiding place for the Where's Fishy event that was to happen for the 3 year anniversary. We would later find that mother nature had other plans.
The band played as we arrived

Widow Bessler enjoyed the island
We went back over to Fantasia gardens to check on Al and then gathered a group to go have lunch over in DCA at the Tratorria.
Arriving at the restaurant we spotted one team coming in for Seasons of the vine.
Spirit Award winners
After a wonderful lunch with the gang we all wandered over to Paradise pier to check on the staff over there.

We're having fun even though we're in Paradise
We ran into several teams along with spotters, MaxandBellesmom, Demigod, and Photomatt.
It was about time for me to take advantage of the Space Fast Pass I had and so I called MonoralMan. He said he would meet me over at Space so I left the group and made my way there.
MM and I had a great time in Space but MY GOD it is in such disrepair.
Leaving space we ran into another spotter, IndianaJen. Then the Neuhickman's stopped by.

Another rally team
Neuhickmans
The day was coming to an end and my impending obligation to help score the players of the rally was on the horizon. With just a little bit of time to spare I wanted to catch one last ride. I had it in my mind to ride Mansion.
Along the way Monorail Man and I ran into Prat55 and Mimmy, er Hubby55 and The Forbidden eye.
Forbidden Eye
Dustysage called. He was finished checking us into the Anabella Hotel and wanted to join us. Soon enough Dusty was by my side and the four of us went into the mansion.
So glad to have the old Mansion back as it should be.
It was getting cold and dark
The last moments of the Rally and the rain began
Penguinsoda on her way to another assignment
And the rain continued
We now had to high tale it to Tortilla Joes. But I was to meet IndianaJen and a few others at the Hearthstone to go over some GR procedures. It was here that I got the first martini of the night.
Nice and warm, I headed over to Tortilla Joes and met up with Al. My crew soon followed and we waited with great anticipation for the first teams to arrive.
CONGRATULATIONS! GIMMIE YOUR PACKET!
The first team arrived and we began to have people line up for the Awards party.
While a crowd continued to grow outside in the rain, our team put the finishing touches on the scoring. Circarama kindly bought me another Martini.
With scoring finished and the night of fun ahead I ordered a third Martini and settled into a corner.
My work was done. Onto the party
I tried to take pics of the winning teams...
Spirit Award goes to...
