Rate Pooh-The Offical MC Poll on Pooh (Merged)

I am doing this to get a census of what all MCers think about Pooh. Vote 1 and you think it is Presslerrific (a.k.a. as bad as it can possibly be), vote 10 and you think it is the Haunted Mansion of the 21st century. If you vote a 6 or above you are saying that the ride is good.
    I am voting a 2.

The Poll closes on 2-19-08 at 1:12 PM Eatern Time. After that I will average the votes together.

Re: Rate Pooh-The Offical MC Poll on Pooh

Is this poll meant to reflect our opinions on Pooh's quality as an attraction, or our affinity for it?

There is a significant difference between the two. Example: Mr. Toad is a perennial Disney favorite, and entertaining to the majority, I imagine. But as far as the quality of design and execution, 'Toad' is mostly 2-D cutouts and a carnival-style delivery system.

Another example is IASW. Not of much interest to me, but I certainly recognize its quality in design and execution. Personal feelings aside, IASW is an accomplishment.

Everything at DL is a 10. Now that does not mean I enjoy everything the same. It does not mean that I do not miss CBJ because I do. The fact is this is Disneyland you are talking about, and DL is all things good.

I gave it a 3, taking a weighted average of the score I'd give it for personal appeal (1 or 2) and the score I'd give it for overall contribution to the park (4 or 5). The latter is because kids do seem to rather like it, and it's far out of the way, and at least it has a little bit of entertainment value for us older folks simply on account of how freakin' scary it is.

Mr. Toad may use 2-D cutouts, but Toad is still a high quality attraction because of how well it was designed. Toad really puts you in the story. Pooh may be more technologically advanced, but it is very poorly designed.
Vote on quality, but remember quality doesn't come from just technology.

So you believe that Pooh desrves to be regarded as highly as the classics just because it is in Disneyland? No offense, but that makes no sense.

I gave Pooh a 7. I think its a great attraction for all ages to enjoy together. I put it on par with the Fantasyland attractions.

I give it a 7 too. I love it, but it's not as good as WDW's Pooh.

I gave it a 5. It does it's job as a diversion and as a kid-pleasing ride. It's not exactly a quality ride, but we've seen worse. Not to mention that a few show scenes are improved, such as the party scene with the group, as opposed to just Piglet at WDW, and the H&W scene is much brighter and neater. The dark scene before with tigger's voice is also better compared to the generic voice in WDW's.

The attraction is enjoyable, but it does not have the same quality that the other dark rides have, and when compared to the MK version it falls way short. I will say that the ride vehicles and the heffalumps and woozles (sp?) part is/are better then the MK version.

When I voted I tried not to focus on the fact that it replaced CBJ. If I did that I would have given it a 1.

I remember a few years ago, the park was pretty much empty, and me and my friend (kritter) were in the area, and we walked onto Pooh, and we said "We can't wait to experiance another one of whinny the pooh's many adventures!!!" And the cast member said ... "No you dont".

Re: Rate Pooh-The Offical MC Poll on Pooh

It's a cute ride. The sets are pretty and the music is good. It's a decent length for this type of ride.

I'd certainly rate it higher than Snow White and Pinocchio.

I rate it a 7, based on it being a solid and enjoyable dark ride.

And yet, I still think of it as one of Disneyland's greatest blunders. Yes, the park can always use another family-friendly dark ride, but in this day & age there's no excuse for building a ride that is weaker than many of the current Fantasyland attractions.

And, as anyone who has been to Tokyo will attest, this Pooh ride pales in comparison to Hunny Hunt. What a shame they chose the cheap route, rather than bringing one of Disney's greatest masterpieces, and one of the top theme park attractions of all time, to Anaheim.
