2 different places for me. Sitting in front of Small world or Standing at the exit of innoventions.
What about in the hub? That was the best view i have had. What is it like watching from Small World?

Other options are extremely problematic.
I think it is on Main St., right in front of the castle.
If you choose to sit in front of the castle, stay away from near the Carnation Gardens entrance for two reasons. First, the lighted sign stays on, and second, the large tree to the right of the sign blocks 90% of the sky fireworks.
....You think your so powerful? Well this is my dream....
You get a great view, with the fireworks just a little off to the left...and before the rehab during the holidays, the special projections before and after were superb...
Best of all, much less crowded!
Although I don't know if it's the same since the SM rehab started.

Thank you POISONEDAPPLES!
Usually, when there's F! too, me and my friends camp out near the entrance to Frontierland just back enough to see past the tree. If not, then the opposite side of the hub by the walkway to the Matterhorn just past Tomorrowland.
Remember, Dreams come true!... and mermaids are hot, even on Halloween.
I love watching the fireworks. However, the one thing i dont like was the last time i camped out (yes, i camped for a spot for two hours) as soon as they started, everyone and their mother starts getting in my way. Totally cutting in and out of people. Some guy, with his kid on his shoulders stood right infront of me. Sorry, just venting.

The hub is so crowded now, it could very well be the best view I'm just not willing to deal with it. With Small world you are closer to the action and the crowds are cut significantly.
Actually, the tree only blocks the fireworks if they are fired from the left side on a particular night. They do alter which side the fireworks are launched from. If you sit on the left side of the hub near the gardens and they are launched from the right that night, they will be perfectly in line with the castle. Otherwise you will want to sit on the right side of the hub. Also, sitting near the gardens can be a good thing as they provide for a very quick way out of the traffic after the fireworks. You simply duck through the tunnel to Rancho del Zocalo and end up in Frontierland a very short walk to Pirates, HM or Splash.
Getting a seat in the hub isn't very hard really either. If you head to the hub about 30 minutes before the fireworks and just pick a spot near the edge on the side you want and sit there, about 10 minutes before the start they ask everyone to stand and move forward and you can get really close the very front at that point.
Outside of the hub, we like watching from Tomorrowland out front of Pizza Port.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
The hub is a great place to watch it if you don't mind the crowds. Right in front of the castle is great, just know that there is a circular flow going constantly through the parade, so there will be people walking in front of you. The upshot to this is that you'll be looking up, over all of the people's heads, so it's not that big of a deal.
Otherwise, there's a really great viewing area right at the Tomorrowland entrance/exit. It's partially obstructed by a tree, but it's not too bad. Standing on the furthest right side of the viewing area gets rid of that lil' problem. =D

how about outside the park, as we are going to universal on Monday
My choices for outside of the park include:
Top floor of Mickey and Friends garage (if you have free parking)
Parking lot of Mimi's Restaraunt
The plaza walkway area between DCA and Disneyland (closer to the DCA letters seems better)
Depending on what hotel your staying at and the view your room. I have not tried any of these but have heard that Paradise Pier swimming pool area is great as is the jacuzzi at the Howard Johnsons.
