Snow White Going Bye Bye!

I am a Disneyland cast member in the entertainment department and it was announced today that Snow White An Enchanting New Musical will be going away until next summer. The final performance will be on Labor Day and then the show will go into moth balls until the begining of next summer when it will run for 11 weeks and then go away forever to make way for a new show.

After Snow White closes this Labor Day there are no plans at all for the Fantasyland Theatre , No refurbishments and maybe only one or two special events will be done there. The theatre will remain dark for the most part of the coming year. The people in charge of making this decesion have said that Disneyland has too much entertainment at this time and that with the expensive fireworks show Snow White had to go. The money saved from Snow White will go into exsiting show budgets.

This is an interesting time to make this decesion because they had just hired new performers recently and just finished rehearsing them. They also had advertised auditions coming up in the next month or two.

The show was not a great one to begin with but with Aladdin going down to 5 days and being dark on Mondays and Tuesdays both parks will be with out a major show during the day and that is not going to sit well with guests.

Being dark for months? That's not good news ... when park capacity is an increasing issue. What about a "Christmas" show? If there is no Christmas parade in DL due to the 50th parade ..... then ONE live entertainment show .. to go with the perennial "Nightmare Before Christmas H.M." and "Holiday Small World" would feel just right.

Let's get some bands in there. The Fab 4 would fill it up ....... they should bring in bands that would help boost attendance in the off-season ......

Yet another Disneyland atrocity I will never get to experience. First Superstar Limo, now this.

Do you think the whole cast getting drunk and calling in sick a few months back could have brought about the shows un/timely (depending on how you feel about it) demise?

Happy news for me! I found the show lacking in so many ways. One being very boring. Bring back Videopolis!!
