Bringing outside food into the park

Ok, so "rules" state NO OUTSIDE FOOD IN THE PARK. Of course there is the picnic area.
But I've seen people bring in food. So what's the deal? Does it depend on who checking you bags? Is it "we just are trying to curtail large numbers of people from bring food in by having a policy but not really enforcing it?

Snacks ok? But no major banquet?

What are your thoughts on this?

I've brought water into the park and I've also brough things like trailmix, cliff bars and such. Never had a problem

I usually have water and a granola bar or two on me.... but yeah.. .dont bring in a 4 foot sub sandwich, that might be a a real no- no

I have 3 daughters, nothing is worse than standing in an hour line with a hungry 2 year old. We always have snacks like oranges, animal crackers and granola bars.

I usually bring a decent amount of snacks in...the most I've brought in with my gf were a sandwich box, two bags of carrots, cliff bars, candy spilt among our 2 bags. I have a camelback backpack and she has an eeyore bag. They don't really care if you bring stuff in, though a picnic basket would be pushing it. Just open all your zippers and look for a friendly CM who doesn't seem to care, they'll let you through

Unlesss you are coming in from the Timon/Pumbaa lot. I've had that problem before.

Snacks OK. No major banquet. That's seems a good guideline.

That was one of the nice amenities of the old parking lot: have a picnic at your car. Go all the way to M&F? Not for me.
When I was growing up and when my family visited amusement parks, we'd always pack a lunch and keep it cool in the car.

It also depends on how you pack. I've found that if it isn't visible they really won't dig for it... once inside the park you can easily grab a seat and reorganize the bag.

I always TRY to have energy bars and cookies so some sort in the backpack along with a few bottles of water that we store in the locker. No one has ever stopped us.

I've walked in with 3 Monsters and no one said anything.

On Sunday I went in with 4-5 boxes of pocky and a bag of rice crackers.

Hi. I have been to the park numerouse times in the last three years and I have a family with three kids. We take a larger soft-fided lunch box type and put sodas, juice boxes, cheese n crackers and even sandwiches in it and they have never said anything about it. WE normally eat breakfast at the hotel, continental type, and eat the luch and snacks we pack, then eat at a not to expensive restraunt where the kids can share meals, like the fried chicken at the Plaza. Make the trip alot less expensive. Of course we drive so we can bring food with us, and I do, like cereal and milk or chips and stuff like that to keep in the hotel room incase the kids get hungry whe we get back. Hope this helps. All they told me was that it couldn't be glass and not to big of a container.

I've got a big cooler tote thing that i have filled with 3 or 4 drinks, and 2 or 3 each of apple sauce, granola mix, reese's snack mix, organic smooshed fruit rollups, and giant snickers bars. Never had a problem bring it in. Also, I've carried in smoothies and pretzels bought at Downtown Disney. I was kind of surprised the first time they let me in, because I thought it would be a zero tolerance policy like the movie theatre, but they checked my lunch bag and everything and no one had a problem with it. i bet you could bring in sandwiches too, in a tote like that, but not a huge KFC meal for a family of five, or something.

I have never had a problem bringing stuff in. Sunday I had a packed bag with water, soda, raisins, cheese and crackers and fruit snacks and they were in plain view and she didnt say anything. I think the only no-no was really the soda, but she didnt say anything.
