Disney Revives 'House of the Future' to Showcase Technology
The 5,000-square-foot home, scheduled to open in May, will look like a suburban tract home outside. But inside it will feature hardware, software and touch-screen systems that could simplify everyday living.
The $15 million Innoventions Dream Home is a collaboration of The Walt Disney Co., Microsoft Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., software maker LifeWare and homebuilder Taylor Morrison.
Visitors will experience the look of tomorrow by watching Disney actors playing a family of four preparing for a trip to China.
Anyone hear specifically where this is going to be built? It sounds like concepts we've heard for Innoventions exhibits, except this doesn't seem to be anything that would be inside the Innoventions building.
This makes that Bibleland park look like a better idea with each passing moment.
I'm guessing most visitors to Tomorrowland will 'passover' this exhibit. Even though it's not in DCA it's already DOA. Microsoft would be better off spending the money on a better bid for Yahoo.... or give a free Zune to anyone who should mistakenly stumble into the House of the Future looking for the restroom. Wait a minute, they want people to enjoy the attraction.. Perhaps they should give out iPods instead
