I know a few people mentioned this, but maybe if you call the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast at the Paradise Pier they could help you with something special, so then she gets to see her favorite characters and get proposed to!

As far as when I'm going to actually propose, her B-day is on the 21st, so I didnt want to have to remember yet another date in our relationship so I figured I would do it then so I'd never forget. We fly in Wednesday so i was going to scope out locations and possibilities.

Hey, maybe you can make it a switch-o change-o and really surprise her - She loves Stitch, and you are going to the Lilo & Stitch Breakfast "For her Birthday".

After breakfast, all the Cast and Characters come together for the singing, and bring out the little cake with a candle on it, just like normal. And you sing the traditional first verse as if nothing at all is going on.

But you change the lyrics of the second verse. Here's one possibility, or feel free to come up with something better:

    Happy Birthday to you
    Happy Birthday to you
(You drop to one knee, Stitch whips out that little box and hands it to you, and all the characters mute their singing or hum the tune - and you belt it out nice and clear...)
    Will you be mine forever?
    I want to marry you!

Let the characters hum the tune for another verse if she stands there totally flummoxed for a few seconds... And then you'll know.

There are lots of ways to pull this one off, but that's my idea. Your mileage may vary, Take Only As Directed, and "Forever" is Closer than it Appears...

I was sitting RIGHT in front of the castle before fireworks one night, and the sidewalk and little plaza in front of the castle is blocked off at that time. We saw a guy propose and his GF said yes! Everyone clapped, and then the CM gave them the mickey top hat and veil ears, and rang a bell, proclaiming they had gotten engaged. The CM escorted them off (I guess to watch the fireworks or onto a ride), ringing the bell the whole way.

I've seen a similar situation before; a couple wearing the wedding ears being led by a bell-ringing CM through Tomorrowland, and through an exit onto a ride. It appears the CMs are happy to help! Maybe send your GF on an errand and you go to City Hall to ask about it?

Buy your tickets online - you save about $20 per ticket and you can print out a paper at home, take it right to the turnstiles - they will print you out the actual ticket there - no waiting in will call lines.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

I would call ahead the hotels are always helpful and love to help you make things magical. You can also call vacation planning ( 714- 300-7526) or city hall ahead of time so that you dont need to worry about finding a moment to yourself to arrange it while you are there. I know its been done a million times before but dinner at the Blue Bayou is very romantic and requesting a table by the water makes it perfect.

Hey, occasionally inspiration strikes like the proverbial "Bolt from the Blue". And sometimes it's actually a good idea. Whod'a Thunk It?

And there's one huge advantage to singing it - you don't get choked up or tongue-tied, you just GO.

Singing what you want to say is a good work-around for fear-induced stammering or stuttering, and believe me, he'll be terrified when this starts. Country music star Mel Tillis would stutter really badly when under extreme stress, and used the "Sing it" trick to get the message out.

Thanks alot everyone...I hadn't gotten a chance to get back online all weekend but I'm glad i did. As the trip gets closer and closer, the more nervous I am getting! Everyone's ideas have been a big help, so much in fact that I've taken very good notes and plan to check every location the day before. I've got a 2gb memory card in the camera and plan to fill it up completely. I'll be sure to log back here and report as my little thank you to you guys. Once again, I appreciate everyones help and if you still got a couple of surprises left in you, keep them coming as I dont leave until Wed.

    Thanks!

There are some beautiful spots in the Disneyland hotel, with waterfalls and grottos. Maybe there?

I have always loved the idea of being proposed to on Peter Pan... It is a ride you already sit alone on... and It is one of the most magical places ever...

or what about in the animation building that is pretty spiffy too...

So we finally leave tomorrow and I wanted to thank everyone who chimed in and gave me some great ideas. Wish me luck and I will most definitely have some pictures to share with the board next week.

    One final question though...
weather.com has it raining on and off all week with an average high of 62. Can a local tell me how reliable this info is?

    Thanks again.

    Good Luck Re!

I hate to say, the weather here when it comes to precipitation is reliably unreliable. Bring a couple of umbrellas, you'll love the crowds if the weatherman is right.

I've been reading that on quite a number of threads. I'm hoping the crowds stay away due to the impending doom of rain. Coming from AZ, I'm looking forward to some rain myself. Thanks for the tip
