This was one of my favorite things they added to the re-do of Pirates and I loved the waterfall of Davy Jones. I loved that it felt like you were going to go into a waterfall. But now instead of a curtain of "water", it's turned into a valance of water and just looks stupid. I just figured it got shorter because the machinery was broken or needed maintenance work, not because it was scary. They either need to fix the waterfall to go all the way to the water or take it out.
I think fog emitters of that nature are prone to performance loss due to things like mineral deposits that build up over time.
It's cool when it works, but i guess if its not always working mite as well take it out
If we chase the stars to lose our shadow, Peter Pan and Wendy turned out fine.
When I went on it (last year.. yeah, way too long ago) the fo... er... water mist went all the way to the water. Even then I hated it. My favorite part of the ride was the dark tunnel with the creepy voices playing. It set the mood and told a story. With that gone, and the addition of new effects, the ride just left me confused.
All they need to do is make it foggy and pitch black again, restore the original audio. It is not only cheaper but way better.
Personally, I enjoy the addition of the Davy Jones effect, and I can't say that I've noticed a big change from when it was installed to now. Granted, the fullness of the effect does depend on how busy the park is and how many boats are going through. I can't say I especially miss dark tunnel because, really, it was never actually dark--which would have been creepy. But it wasn't, it was aways more like a low light tunnel to keep the kiddies from getting too freaked.
