    I wore a pedometer this past week. We walked between 6 and 9 miles a day.

    I think that's a great achievable goal and kudos to you for planning for your trip in advance. Think how much fitter you'll be when you get to DL!

    For me the goal is to walk three miles at a brisk pace. That is usually the minimum. I get a couple pair of very supporitve shoes so my feet and back are pretty comfy most of the day. Make sure they have been "broken in".

    I bought some of those gel inserts for my shoes and used them for our last trip. My feet and calves didn't hardly hurt at all. I loved those things!
