Pixar Play Parade Preview Video!!

SO I STUMBLED UPON A NEW VIDEO ON YOUTUBE THAT SOMEONE POSTED ABOUT THE NEW PIXAR PLAY PARADE VIDEO! IT HAS MARILYN MAGNESS THE DIRECTOR FOR THE PARADE EXPLAINING THE CONCEPT OF THE NEW PARADE! WOW ITS GONNA BE GREAT!

AND I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE MUSIC TO THE PARADE IS INDEED "COUNTDOWN TO FUN" THEY ARE USING THE THEME SONG FROM HONG KONG DISNEYLAND'S MICKEYS WATERWORKS PARADE! THE UNITS THEMSELVES WILL HAVE DIFFERENT LOOPS TO COINCDE WITH EACH FILM ITS REPRESENTING BUT ITS THE MAIN SONG FOR THE PARADE! HERES A VIDEO I FOUND OF THE MWWP AND THE AUDIO IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS IS INDEED THE MUSIC! VERY CATCHY INDEED!

I wonder why the editor of the video thought it was necessary to include footage from BPB. I remember a similar thing was done for the preview video for PoD - only the opening float with Tinker Bell was on site at the time, so it also showed some of the Parade of the Stars.

Do they think nobody notices these things?

I was annoyed by that, too. I suppose since they don't have film of the show, they have to make-do with what they have... so I understand why they do it, and I guess when actual footage is needed then there really isn't any other option.

On the other hand, it isn't like they couldn't have shown more concept art. They used the same three pieces over and over again in that clip (Cars, Incredibles, and Nemo). Why not include Monsters, Bugs, Ratatouille, and Toy Story as well?

The thing is though, there IS no need for actual footage at all! The whole premise is that it is coming soon...I'd rather they show more concept art like you say than pretend that the predecessor is actually the new thing. Even a backstage tour of the PPP floats would be awesome and reminiscent of the shows Walt hosted...anything. But not the old parade, that's just silly.

Apple wouldn't run a commercial about their next generation of iPod and then have footage of the current ones...?

Good point, but Apple generally wouldn't run an ad until the product is finished and ready to be shipped.

Disney theme parks are an entirely different business. The Vacation Planning DVDs they send out are intended to sell the Resorts to people who are interested in visiting. Guests who order these DVDs and seriously watch them probably aren't seasoned parkgoers, so concept art alone probably wouldn't do the trick.

Why isn't Marilyn wearing a Disney nametag? If she forgot it that day, you would think someone involved in the video production would have gotten her a replacement before rolling the cameras.
