This Just In...
On Saturday evening, August 6th, Wesley Davenport of Moreno Valley California took his girlfriend, Kim Mitchell of Lake Forest, on a date to Disneyland. An activity the couple routinely makes as Annual Passholders, they suspected nothing out of the ordinary and had been enjoying their time at the Magic Kingdom. Little did they know things would soon take a turn for the worst...
At about 10:45pm they set out to visit the classic Disneyland attraction, "Its a Small World". "A cruise around the world" on this fun loving family favorite went as scheduled until they had exited the show building and started heading back toward the loading dock.
You see on this particular night at that particular time Disney Employees or "Cast Members", were preparing to shut the ride down for the night. They had already phased-out one of the dual loading-unloading docks and were only using one side to operate this high capacity ride... an act the New Dehli construction company who built the ride in the 1960's didnt reccommend. The capacity was too great and the boats started backing up.
As the unlucky boat, number 63, made its way toward the dock where the track normally splits allowing multiple boats to be loaded/unloaded simultaneously. This unfortunately didnt happen. All boats had been diverted to the right side of the dock for loading/unloading causing a traffic jam of sorts. As Wesley & Kims boat made its way down stream a failure in the rides operating software cause surge in the rides braking system failing to slow the boat in time before it rearended the boat in front of it.
Eyewitnesses recount the inccident as "dreaful and very unmagical". One woman upon impact of the boats even screamed out-loud as the jerking motion, caused by the collision, flung her braids to and fro.
All the victims were treated on the scene with "pixie dust" and so far no one has died! The DOSH, who just happened to already be at the resort werent suprised and gladly closed the ride...INDEFINETLY! Disney subsequently laid-off all the cast members who worked the ride. None of the some 17 park guests involved in the accident were available for interview, nor were any Disneyland resort Spkosepeople nor any representatives from DOSH. When trying to get a hold of the New Dehli company who built the attraction an Indian Government Official denied the existance of such company and denied even knowing about the existance of Disneyland or America.
