Re: Save the Rainforest - Keep "it's a small world" a classic.

I've written my letter in a neutral tone asking them to stay true to Mary Blair's work. It's important to me that my voice is heard. It's why I vote. As a shareholder I think that my opinion should mean something. And even if it doesn't to whoever reads my letter, I can go to sleep knowing I tried to do something about it.

Re: Small World Changes OFFICIAL! Underground....

I completely understand them doing it in HK, IF they can get the new "participants" to match the style of the original, then I don't have a "problem" with it at all. But it just seems pointless to me to do it in the US. Besides the fact that the ride was supposed to introduce the melting pot that is the rest of the world to our children. Mmmm, maybe the Imagineers, WDI what-have-you's aren't paying attention to the story of IASW in the first place! And yes, I am one of the many who despise that blasted song (but I adore the set design, so I suffer for the art... literally)!

And don't get me started on the "preschool art department" they seem to have these days at Team Disney... Horrible & disgraceful! I went to design school myself (I was taught the old school way of graphic design & the new computer way- which I incorporate both into my current design work BTW) & am just completely mortified with what I am seeing in concept art these last few years. Disgusting and unforgiveable IMO!

Um... so those were my exact thoughts!

I know that i'm not everyone but it's a small world was my favorite ride until I was around 12. It's been replaced by Haunted Mansion, but it remains in my top three.

And whether you like the ride or not it's an iconic piece of Disneyland. And it shouldn't be changed in this way.

Re: Small World Changes OFFICIAL! Underground....

The only thing I can think of to prompt such a change would be a survey showing that guests complained that there weren't any Disney Characters in IASW.
Naturally, the current DL management can only shrug and give the guests what they want, and not try to explain that the characters in IASW ARE Disney characters.

(Alternative ending: "IASW The Movie"!! "There. Now they're Disney characters! Worked for POTC, worked for HM.")

Re: Small World Changes OFFICIAL! Underground....

If it's posted on micechat, it must be official!!!!

Not saying that it is or isn't "official", but anything I read on a message board, especially this one, I take with a grain of salt.

There will be a few extra goodies, however, they aren't quite what's been reported, and overall, the attraction will be as it has been the past 40-plus years. It's nothing to get worked up about.

because pixar is Disney now. Disney has not made a good animated feature in years. The last ones were back in the lion king/little mermaid days. ...after those they just went downhill....pixar makes the hits now...of course disney will put them in the parks.

Re: Small World Changes OFFICIAL! Underground....

Is it a rule now that any sort of addition to the theme parks must include a PIXAR tie-in? This sounds too bad to be true...Nemo, toy story, the fab five on ISAW...? are you joking?

Feel free to send as many letters in as many languages as you like! Might as well take out another tree since we are already taking out the rainforest anyways! Send one for me in Swahili... just because I want Disney to try and find someone who knows it to reply back!

Never underestimate the awesome power and annoyance of the synergy machine. Sadly they do not need a problem to provide a "solution". But you are thinking so you are already giving the powers that be too much credit!

Actually I agree!
