Actually, for the past few years there's been nothing but princess merch and non-IASW plush toys sold in that shop. I can't remember the last time when I saw IASW dolls for sale there.

So yes, that shop is RIPE for a new line of IASW-themed dolls to take over the princess theme that's been there for years.

I saw a whole crap load of IASW dolls the last time I was in that store just a couple months ago.

If you wanna get technical, I see IASW dolls there every time too: in the display cases as decorations. When I was there a few weeks ago, they had nothing but princess dolls. And again, I've visited that shop at least once every month for the past two years, and still have NEVER seen IASW merch being sold. Maybe it just sold out that quickly before I got a chance to peruse it?

Edit: Now that you've gotten my hopes up, I'm gonna be going there more often in search of IASW merch. What kind of dolls did you see being sold? I've always wanted a doll of those cancan dancers! *crossing fingers*

The "it's a small world" Toy Shop did sell attraction merchandise even very recently. I've seen "it's a small world" blankets, toy sets (plastic boats with it's a small world-themed children inside).

That doesn't change the fact, that these attraction-specific offerings were very few, and the majority of the store was filled to the brim with the run-of-the-mill princess dolls and character plushes that you can get in most other park and resort stores.

I must have the worst luck of any IASW-doll hunters out there.

Wait, you did see actual IASW-themed dolls or plush toys and not just the other stuff, right?

Most of the attraction-specific merchandise was some sort of vinyl playset box or similar items, but I do recall seeing one or two dolls.

Holy crap. Up close, those things look even worse.

If they do that at DL, it will be criminal. Vomituous.

Re: Save the Rainforest - Keep "it's a small world" a classic.

the first few didn't look bad... but then it started getting worse. the ones like the nemo crew, lilo and stich, ariel, and the three caballeros all really stood out as clashing. But I haven't really looked closely at their placement in the attraction yet. toooo busy

They don't look that bad in the attraction, but each part has like a little part of each character so you know where they are.

Not the biggest fan of them yet.

No, sir, I do not like that. How they even made those look cheap, I don't know. I never felt that the old characters and dolls looked cheap but somehow these do. Why is that?

Because these are characters, and those are symbols.

Your deceptively simple comment cuts right to the core; it shows eloquently why style and content cannot be separated. Changing the content of the ride while retaining the Blair/Crump style will not work.

Re: Save the Rainforest - Keep "it's a small world" a classic.

I hate the smiling Cinderella and Prince (and the rest of the new smiling heads). They looked forced and too "Chucky". Not only does it NOT fit in the story, but it does't even fit in Cinderella's story. Why have all the other characters in their story setting, then put Cinderella and Prince Charming waving at the boats? Also, Cinderella's hair makes her taller than the prince, and that looks strange.

One other thing. They have Bambi in the North Pole. Can deer survive that kind of cold?

>>They have Bambi in the North Pole.<<

An Austrian book made into an American movie. Celebrating his cultural folk tale heritage?

Funny.

Or did a Disney exec confuse him with... Rudolph?
