Re: Bob Gurr to get Main Street Window

This is Great news. Now I'll have to make sure I add his new window to my video library for the upcoming "Windows on Main Street" episode I have planned for the BDH Vidcast. Being an Engineer, I can totaly relate and fully respect and appreciate what Bob Gurr has done for Disneyland and everyone who visits. His legacy will live on for a very long time.

Way to go Disney and Congratulations Mr. Gurr!!!

Bear in mind that Gurr was not an engineer. He was trained as an automotive designer...the career he thought he would end up in...which makes his accomplishments all the more remarkable.

Yes, I know he is not an engineer! That is what makes his work so amazing to me. I really admire all of the work he has done. How fun would it have been to work with someone like Bob Gurr or even Roger Broggie on their Disneyland projects. I think that would have been my dream job.

BTW Steve, I LOVE your Books!

Re: Bob Gurr to get Main Street Window

I'm Monotonehell and I approve this window.

It's a well earned window. Gurrmobiles are a cornerstone of Disneyland.
Here's to Bob!

Re: Bob Gurr to get Main Street Window

Long, long overdue and so very well deserved.

And yes, it's wonderful this is being done while Bob's around to enjoy it.

I'll be looking for his window on my next trip. What an incredibly talented and imaginative man!

Re: Bob Gurr to get Main Street Window

We went and saw the window this evening. It is back by the lockers above the Clothiers. It's really cool as there are two parts. There is the window itself and there is a bicycle on the wall next to it. We didn't know where the window was when we got to the park but as we were stopping into the Napa Lounge for a glass of wine on the way in we saw Bob Gurr himself. So, we went over and congratulated him on the window a very proud and happy Bob Gurr told us where it was and described it to us. It is a really great looking window and the only one I know of with a 3-D sign to go along with it.

^ That's really sweet to hear! Personally I'm happy that this is happening sooner rather than later.

More on him here from the Disney Legends site: Bob Gurr.

How wonderful!!!!!!!! I've got his autograph on a couple of pieces....maybe I should hang on to those suckers! It's about time, the man deserves a window while he's still here to see it.

Ask and ye shall receive.

The window, in my opinion is beyond cool. A perfect tribute, IMHO. And probably my favorite window on Main Street now.
