New fireworks, tiki, and "nostalgia" pics

Hopefully these turned out a bit better with the tripod. The B&W ones we did for fun - actually used the setting on the camera instead of Paint Shop Pro, just to see if we could create a little 1955 mood. Hope this isn't too frustrating to scroll thru - maybe there are too many? Anyway, here they are; enjoy!

Some shots of the castle as we were waiting...

Here we go - I love this show!

I got so lucky on this one - almost missed it entirely!

I swear I didn't look into the eye!

Tink's tiny, but she stopped long enough to capture!

A few Tikis, but I wasn't as happy with these. Birds kept moving, imagine that!

Just liked the nostalgia of these, I used to love BW film.

    And finally for comparison:

    NemoZorro,

I can't see the pics, any chance you could send them to me? Also, can you believe we're getting rain during the day??? I almost forgot what that was!

Fantastic. Beautiful firework shots! Did you take those with a digital? I can never get my night shots to come out that crisp. Do you use special settings?

Thanks for the kind words. Yea, they were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XT. Most were done with Program AE mode (not enough time to mess with aperature and shutter speed) and flash disabled. Some, like the rapid attempt at Tink, were done in a Sports mode so I could keep firing.

I can't take the credit; it is really the camera and the tripod that do the work. BEST CAMERA, EVERRRRRR (at least for the money).

Very nice pictures, indeed! Good work, NemoZorro! I think another user on this board, XFKirsten, has the same camera as you. I can't believe how good her night shots are... she uses 1600ASA and there's hardly any noise.

    anyway, good job!

Thanks for the nice comments. The camera is awesome, and you're right, it has alot less grain than I would expect for night shots.

If you guys remember the thread I had a little while ago saying that parts of the fireworks show were missing, I guess they are back because this picture above is one part of the show that was missing.
