Re: The Disney's California Adventure that never was

But if you look closly the track of the monorail was changed to go around Westcot's "Spaceship Earth" (or whatever it was going to be called), then go to where #6 is at, then to where #1 is at then back to it's normal route.

taman, thanks for the westcot pic, I would really appreciate it if you gave me the site where that picture is and if you can't can you tell me what each number stood for on the map. Thanks for the help.

It's really wierd because I am creating new additions to the resort and and some of this picture kind of looks like what i'm creating. so thanks again if you are able to get the site.

1 I can't remember what exactly but this...
2 Along with 2 was to be an entertainment and hotel complex (rough analogue of Downtown Disney)
3 DISNEYLAND!
4 Central ticketing and entry plaza
5 Again I forget this one, but it's interesting that the entire area near it is patterned in the same way as the "future expansion area"
6 Main entry for Hotel and Entertainment area
7 WESTCOT!
8 Place of much cheerleading and other conventions (nothing to do with Disney do who cares XD)
9 People Movers from...
10 Parking Structures

PeopleMovers. Damn. Especially since plans were already in the works to take 'em out for Tomorrowland '98 when they were making these drawings. Guess they figured that would make up for it.

Actually that Westcot drawing is pre-Toontown(1993), so where does that place it in the TL'98 planning timeline?

I love seeing things that could have been about DLR parks.

Re: The Disney's California Adventure that never was

wow, that's so wierd; in my plan, the same track was for peoplemovers!!!
except mine is a little different because it goes to the existing parking structure.
but still that's cool, because I had a people mover to a new structure like in the pic. and a third peoplemover from that struc to the third park

Re: The Disney's California Adventure that never was

i've got another picture of westcot. The writing's pretty small and the angle's a little wierd so you can refer to the overhead map for help. I'll put what it says after.

A New Playground for Mickey *don't know if this is the right word
The Walt Disney Co. unveiled planning Wednesday to develop a large resort complex in Anaheim with the current Disneyland as *its hub* The most dramatic of the propposals is for Westcot Center, similar to Epcot Center, that would be built on the parking lot adjacent to Disneyland. Also included would be three new hotels and a shopping plaza.
1 - Disneyland
2 - Westcot Center
3 - The New Disneyland Resort Hotel (curved building)
4 - The Disneyland Hotel (w/extensions)
5 - The Magic Kingdom Hotel
6 - The Westcot Lake Resort (not in the park)
7 - Disneyland Center
8 - Disneyland Plaza
9 - Disneyland Bowl (concert arena)
10 - Public Parking Structures
11 - Future Expansion Area
12 - Anaheim Convention Center

Re: The Disney's California Adventure that never was

did anyone notice that on the westcot map the "third park" area said future expansion area while on the DCA map this area had employee parking.
isn't there employee parking north of the existing structure and if so can't they just build a structure up there for all employee parking?
