Disneyland 2010

We have finally decide we are going back to DL. We have done both WDW and DL and have deicde to go back to DL in 2010. I can't wait. I love this park so much more then WDW. Now the count down begins. Now which resort would you stay at. Disneyland hotel our Disney Grand California?

Re: Disneyland 2010

It's so far off that both Midway Mania and World Of Color will be open, so Disneyland Hotel may have a whole new look if it completes it's rumored refurbishment. If Disneyland Hotel isn't refurbished, stay there. It's cheaper than Grand Californian and the rooms are much larger. Chances are it'll cost an arm and a leg to stay there after the refurb though, so keep posted until you know when your making reservations, that way you don't have your mind set on something that will be way different when you arrive.

If money were no object, I'd stay at the CGH. Just for the fact that its a beautiful hotel, and you can't get any closer to the park unless you won a stay in the dream suite.

Very True. The hotel is really pretty and the lobby is breathtaking when you see it for the first time. The area is very well-landscaped and the fact that it's in DCA and that your closer to the Hotel Guest DCA entrance are really good perks. The $$$ for the rooms is the one con.

Re: Disneyland 2010

My wife has stayed at all 3 of the hotels (lucky) over the years and her favorite is the Disneyland Hotel. We did stay at the GCH (only one I've been to) for the 50th though.

It was incredible and the price wasn't all that bad really because we told them we didn't care about view or anything. We just wanted a room with 2 queen beds. Ended up with a view right over World of Disney looking at the monorails passing the Indy show building and it was about $120 a night.

So you never know what you can end up with, just call and ask what specials they have and what the cheapest room you can get is. It was really worth it to be able to walk straight into DCA or Downtown Disney.

We'll be there in 2010 for the party as well.

Re: Disneyland 2010

All things being equal I'd stay at the Grand.....but, the DLH is usualy 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the Grand and, if you have kids, they may like the pool at the DLH more than the one at the Grand---although they are both great

Re: Disneyland 2010

I love staying at the Disneyland hotels... I go to them instead of the other area hotels because I can trust they'll be nice rooms. But other than that -- go to the cheapest.

Expensive or not, they tend to look the same when your eyes are closed and you're sleeping. Outside of that, you'll be spending your time at the Parks... so why spend extra for something you won't really utilize that much.

Re: Disneyland 2010

Stay in the Grand Californian. By 2010 the newest wing with all the DVC's will be built and the Disneyland Hotel Renovation will be in the middle of its construction so there would be construction everywhere, while the grand californian will be complete and peaceful.
