It was such a fun meet! Glad to see and talk to so many
people this past weekend! What a great time, with so many
great people! And I love all the springtime flowers, in the
trees and on the ground. Can't wait for the rest of the photos!
Skywaygrl, just WHEN did you finally make it home??????
Mac Fishy and Mac Daddy, did this whale show up for the meet? Must be the first ever MiceChatter to take a swim at the Hub. I'd like to go with him on all the SEA-Ticket attractions. Afterward, we could all have a tail gate party.
To Boldly Go Where No MiceChatter Has Gone Before!
It was decided to head to the Riverbelle Terrace for lunch and the group headed over. Why the Terrace? In honor of our guest, Dave Defore, of course. Dave's father Don Defore ran the Don Defore Silver Banjo Barbecue Restaurant. Dave's father was the only person ever to have sole proprietorship of a restaurant INSIDE Disneyland. Dave worked for his father at age 12 and, in effect, became the youngest CM on record.
Dave approaches what used to be the Silver Banjo Barbecue
Dave tells us about the restaurant
Some very handsome pirates stopped by to hear Dave chat
It was a joy to have such a kind, humble and interesting person there sharing a bit of history with us MC'ers. He fit right in and I hope he felt at home because we sure enjoyed his company.
Lunch was, as always, spendy, but pretty good. Dusty and I split a turkey sandwich an each had a side. I sat down and got the most wonderful surprise. Morrigoon sat down next to me to have lunch and it was just so cool. I hadn't seen her in a while and she could not have looked better.

Sir Clinksalot and Belle
After lunch it was decided that we should go catch one of the last showings of Seasons of the vine over in DCA. The group migrated over to DCA. Along the way I took pictures.
Crossing the barren esplanade
We got there and a showing was just about to start. DAMN! A glass of wine always made this show a little more bearable.
The place was packed out. Seriously! I had to stand in the back.
Oh well. That would be the last time I would hear Jeremy Irons dulcet tones.
time for wine.
MCow1, Mary Read and myself snagged some glasses of the Silverwood Fantasia blend and schmoozed.
Around the corner we had a visitor. A lone hummingbird was inspecting the flowers along the path aand was happy to have visitors. It was AMAZING. The bird showe no signs of fear and knew we were just standing there admiring him. He even faced us a few times just to say hello.
Well It was then that we said goodbye to some of the group and headed back into Disneyland. Why? We had Space FP's and I never miss a chance to get a Space ride. The big group of us said our goodbyes, crossed the esplanade and made it to Space. However it was in terrible disrepair.
The queue is a mess. Six Flags bad. Really.
The beat up queue
The ride is not much better I'm afraid. The good news is that the sound works. The bad news is that you can't help but notice the loud whirring noise generated by the cracked wheels on all of the vehicles.
Space was in a sad state but I guess in space, no one can hear you cry.
We stood in the exit area and bid farewell to the group. So nice to see such wonderful, such dear friends. It surprises me how many great people I have met, how many truly amazing people I have come in contact with, because of the meets. Amazing.
Rixter, MickeyMaxx, Dusty and myself heade out to Parking lot X together. We did have a bit of a problem. The parade route was well defined now with people waiting for the parade and the walkways were packed. Just then a guest, high school band was marching along the route and as they passed people were allowed to use the parade route again.
So, thinking fast we trailed the band down the parade route and got quick exit and hence the day ended as it began; With a band march down Main Street.
This past Sunday was truly one of the more memorable meets. There were so many MC'ers there. Newbies, old timers, Dave Defore, and a ton of wonderful memories.
Thanks to all who showed up and hope to see you at the meet some time soon.

*is a little envious despite having been there*
but thanks to this TR now knows exactly that the big group was indeed the MC meet
Very cool report.
It's unsurprisingly a bunch of you went to that last Seasons of the Vine show. I meant to catch it but thoroughly forgot about it.
I must have gotten lucky on Space and got a train that didn't have divots in the wheels or missing sound that seem to have become the norm lately. The main lift hill mechanism seemed noisy at the top and noticeable as you turn toward the third lift, that I don't recall before.
