Monte Cristo Craving

Okay, I'm going to be moving down to SoCal again and my mom is coming down to help me. This might sound incredibly strange (or tacky, but I'm okay with that). She really likes Monte Cristos from the Blue Bayou, but she doesn't really dig the whole Disney experience and it would just be a watse to go spend the money to go to the park just for the sandwich. A few months ago I went up to the hostess and asked if it would be at all possible to get the Monte Cristo to go. That way I could go in, get the sandwich and bring it out to her. The hostess said, that the only menu item that they "to go" is the Monte Cristo.

The question I have is, was this CM correct in her information to me and if so, what would be the easiest way to go about getting the Monte Cristo. Is it better for me to call in the order or should I go up to the hostess and order it there? Thank you so much for any responses you guys have because my mom will be so happy if she gets to have her Monte Cristo.

I'd say just order them when you get there. It didn't take us very long at all (like maybe 10 minutes max?) and then you can take it wherever you want! We loved it

Just go to one of the Jerry's Famous Deli's in town. They make a really mean Monte Cristo.

Since you brought up my favorite meal of all time. Wouldn't it be neat to turn The Monte Cristo into snack size pieces. What I mean is, what if they cut it into 4 "bitesize pieces" and sold them at that little refreshment stand where you can buy the Mint Juleps?

I've heard that when they turn Cafe Orleans back into a table service restaurant beginning late next year, they may serve the Monte Cristo, but this is totally unofficial gossip.

I love the Monte Cristo as well. The first time my husband and I had ever had one was at the Blue Bayou on our honeymoon. almost 12 years ago. I try to have one everytime we go but now that we have 2 kids it's not always possible.

I don't know who discovered dipping your Monte Cristo into jelly, but man is that ever good!

If you can't get into the Blue Bayou, Millie's on Harbor Blvd and the Jolly Roger Inn on Katella serve Monte Cristos.
