So-Cal Annual Pass question, need answered asap!

Hey all. Tomorrow a whole group of us is going to Disneyland. A few people want to pick up the Southern California Annual Pass (not the select, the $149 one) and we have a question. Tomorrow (Saturday the 13th) is a blackout day for the So-Cal pass, so if they ended up getting the pass, would they still have to pay the extra $30 to get in on the blackout day or would that day be exempt since they just bought the pass and have to get in to take their picture etc... If someone could give me an answer asap, I'd really really appreciate it and be your best friend. Thanks!!!

No. But to make sure, you can buy the day ticket and then upgrade it later in the day. But I'm pretty sure they will let you in that day. You have to go and get your picture taken and get the actual pass.

I did it on the 17th. An Annual Pass is ALWAYS good the day you buy it. No need to do the Ticket -> AP hassle, just buy the AP.

Yup, he's got that right. I got my SoCal pass on a blockout day. They'll give you a tiny bit of hassle at the gate because it scans as an invalid admission, but if you explain that you just bought it, they'll let you in.

    Have fun! APs are awesome.

Actually, if you plan to be at the park for a few days on your FIRST trip, that you should look into buying a discounted Multi-Day ParkHopper before your visit...

This way, you avoid Blockout Days, and get the Early Entry and the free ESPN Zone game card.

The one big rule, you must UPGRADE to an AP, so the cost of the ParkHopper has to be less than the AP you want.
