Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

Having watched the Enchanted movie with my kids several times recently. I have come to the realization that ride possibillities for this movie at Disneyland are virtually endless. What would you do with this movie to make it into a ride? You can go from a dark ride to an e ticket. Just map it out and let us know how it would be done.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I like a dark ride where you start in Andalasia. Go through a few of the scenes in Andalasia perhaps hunting the Ogre, then you can use the love scene with the two. Followed up by heading to the wedding where the villain will spin the car out of control into the big city. Probably cant use time square but perhaps just a city type facade. This will lead you to the meat and potatoes of the movie where you can use the song "How Does She Know" through the park. This will all happen before you hit the ball in which Edward will appear again. The apple will be bitten and lead you to a Dragon scene. As cool as the castle is other than Fantasmic! there is not much to do about the Dragon from Disney movies.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

Welllll...I don't know, since I haven't seen the movie, but keep in mind that an E-ticket can be a dark ride. "E-ticket" refers to the quality and popularity of the attraction; it's a reference back to the days when rides could only be experienced by handing over tickets of the appropriate quality level. Dark rides are indoor attractions that feature show scenes around the vehicles, typically with selective use of darkness, but not always. Pirates and HM are E-ticket dark rides, Fantasyland features a lot of dark rides that aren't really E-tickets, Big Thunder Mountain is an E-ticket but not a dark ride, and HISTA is neither a dark ride nor an E-ticket. "E-ticket" and "dark ride" aren't two ends of a scale--they describe entirely different types of categories.

I said no simply because I think that Disney should add some more 'thrill' rides in the future, not more of the likes of PPF. I just can't see enchanted being a 'thrill' ride, which is why I said no. Although I do enjoy those rides, there are just enough IMO.

ORWEN: I would LOVE to be enchanted by a ride based on ENCHANTED! It's such an enchanting story with such enchanting characters. And a well done attraction couldn't help but enchant!! I say bring it on!!

ORDDU: And I say I'll support it, too--especially if they do multiple animatronic figures of Prince Edward. (And while they're at it, I hope they'll make him anatomically correct.)

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I said no as I have had enough of movie franchises turned into rides for a while. I would rather Disney spent its $$ and creative staff on new ORIGINAL rides that don't need a movie or franchise fad to prop it up.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I for one am completely ok with rides that draw inspiration from a movie. That is the caveat though. I don't want a simple retelling of the story. I want the creativity of Imagineering to take us into the world to places we may not have gone, or to see things we may not have seen. Like Indy takes us on a totally movie-un-related adventure into the world that the movies created.

If they can do that with Enchanted, then I think it could work and be successful. It could use similar characters and be different.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I voted no. It COULD be an enchanting ride but I feel that they've really pushed us all against the wall with attractions based on film properties. And thematically it could pose a problem with Andalasia and New York as locales. It certainly wouldn't fit in Disneyland OR California Adventure.

Disney's Hollywood Studios would be the most likely place if they make a ride based on the film. But WDW's Fantasyland could easily do an Andalasia only ride if they chose... but I don't think it's a venture worth going into.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

The problem with an Enchanted ride at Disneyland is that the premise is that they leave the world of fables and wind up in the "real" world. That is antithesis to what Disneyland (at least) tries to achieve.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I think that Enchanted has an interesting enough story and pleasant enough music to be a very nice dark ride. But I think it would be hard because the characters are mostly live action and not drawings. It is fun to ride something based on drawings because then the characters "come to life." When the characters are live actors, then the ride has to be faithful to the image of the actors or it looks weird to both adults and children. So while I think it would be a very nice dark ride, it would be very hard to pull off well.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I vote no, only b/c IMO I didnt think that movie was all that great & there is other movies I would rather see become a ride before this one. I know the kids like it but not for me. I could see a stage show of Enchanted doing well though. Maybe make it a family comdey like show?? I think a lot of people would dig it.

I would enjoy it, but I voted no. I just think there are a ton of other Disney movies that have stood the test of time that deserve a ride as well.

Re: Could Enchanted be an enchanting ride?

I could see a show with animation playing on real life, even a dinner show would be fun if done correctly (lets put in under a manhole cover on hollywood backlot in DCA ).

Definitely not a ride. I enjoyed the movie but I don;t see anything that isn't thertre related being put in for this film, it wasn't that exciting.
