Hotels

Opening Date: Unknown, Possibly late 2009
Status: Planning
Description: There are either two or three proposed hotels that are planned to be built on the east side of the GardenWalk. There is planned to be 866 rooms among the hotels. The hotels will have a large outdoor deck above the shopping area that includes pools and other amenities. The hotels owners are not yet known; however, one possibility is the Disney Company.

Timeshares

Opening Date: Unknown, Possibly mid-2009
Status: Planning
Description: There are 400 timeshare units planned to be built on the west side of the GardenWalk. They will be built above the parking garage and will feature a private rooftop pool and recreation courtyard. The timeshares are detached from the hotels; however, it is possible that they will be under the same owner.

Potential Expansion

Opening Date: Unknown, Possibly 2011
Status: Planning
Description: This new addition to the GardenWalk would be located in the northern area of the block extending from the GardenWalk to Harbor Blvd along Disney Way. The expansion, though not yet approved, would provide guests with more retail, restaurants, and entertainment. The new addition would also include a new garden and an abundance of plants and shrubbery. The potential expansion would also provide a new entrance to the GardenWalk that is located less than five minutes walking distance from the Disneyland Resort.

I haven't seen this posted yet but you may want to include the pictures from this OCRegister article...

Developers submit plans for two GardenWalk hotels

Buildings would house 866 rooms in all, and offer 25,000 square feet in meeting space.

The Orange County Register

ANAHEIM - Developers have submitted plans for two hotels in the GardenWalk district – each one proposed to have more than 400 rooms.

Both hotels would be 12 stories high, with one at 300 Disney Way, and the other at 1775 South Clementine St.

The Disney Way hotel would house 400 rooms, all suites. The other, on Clementine, would have 466 rooms and 25,000 feet of meeting space.

The hotels would be near Disneyland and perhaps run by Disney.

"We are in discussions with the Walt Disney Co. to manage the hotels," said developer Ajesh Patel, president and CEO of Prospera Hotels.
Sherri Vander Dussen, the city of Anaheim's planning director, said the hotels' plans had to be passed around through city departments, with officials then drawing up conditions for approval.

Developers would then tweak their plans accordingly and bring them before the Planning Commission, then likely the City Council, for approval in the coming months.

Patel said Prospera is working together with developer O'Connell Hotels and Hospitality to build the two hotels, which, if approved, would be under construction simultaneously.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk

As part of the Orange County Concierge Association I was able to dine at Mccormick and Schmicks and we had the opportunity to see a truely impressive presentation of the future of this project. After the presentation we were able to ask any questions that we had and the part that I am really looking forward to is going to be the Heat Ultra Lounge... Currently we don't have any Night Club scene and its something that I get asked about all the time... From my understanding of the presentation the Heat Ultra Lounge will be a 4000 sq ft. multi lounge catering to different genre's... Also there is plans to eventually expand that club into another 4000 sq ft. It will be quite interesting to see what happens with this project.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk

What I want to know is where they are going to route the Cast Shuttles when that gets going full steam. That route around Clementine and Disney Way seems likely to get pretty congested when it's fully operational with the potential for slowing down the shuttles considerably.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk

I've seen threads where trips to Cheesecake Factory have been mentioned. Where is it? I tried to Google Map the location but the one I turned up seemed way too far to be walking distance. Does anyone have the address or the cross streets?

Love the info and artwork you were able to include in your post. Thanks!

Corner of Clementine and Katella, right across from K-LOT Cast Member parking.

As to ''walking distance' that tends to depend upon one's capabilities and degree of fatigue.

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk

Hey guys I work within walking distance of the Garden Walk. It looks really impressive and pretty in pcitures and concept art. here is to hoping it looks very similar in reality! Right now thought it looks no where near to opening in MAY. This is a welcomed additon to Anaheim! As I cant sneak away long enough to walk to Disneyland LOL!

Re: Anaheim GardenWalk

here's a picture of the location (this is an old satellite picture of the area, meaning it's not up to date and construction hasn't started when this pic was taken)
the area on the right about half way between Katella and Disney way is the fire station.
