    Hunchback Theatre Replacement Idea

Is anything going in there? If not, I have an idea: Pocahontas's Riverbend Journey! It would be a two level dark water ride with a drop at the beginning. It starts off after you enter through a curtain of leaves. You see Grandmother Willow and she welcomes you. You then go up to the second level (outdoors?) and you climb up to the top. You see Pocahontas about to jump off the cliff as you plummet to the first level and pass Nakoma and Pocahontas in the overturned canoe. The next scene is "Just Around The Riverbend." It is bright, colorful, and you see Pocahontas, Meeko, and Flit canoing through the scene. Next, you see Grandmother Willow to tell you to listen to your heart and watch the compass spin. Next, you see John Smith about to shoot Pocahontas as she is seen in front of a water curtain. Soon, we enter a "Tunnel Of Love-meets earthy" version of "Colors Of The Wind." The next scene is of the battle before Powhatan strike John Smith. When Pocahontas says "I love him," we go up to the top and float through the boat and see John Smith packing his bags. As we exit, we see Pocahontas wave toward the small boat, then we go back down as Meeko, Flit, and Grandmother Willow say goodbye.

    So what do you think?

Cool idea, but I'm not too big on animated franchises entering Frontierland, and Pocahontas predates the time period of Frontierland by a few hundred years.

I think it's a nice starter for a ride that would make a good transition between Fantasyland and Frontierland. Way better than the rumored Woody's Roundup ride.

Too bad disney is making more money on that joint using it for corp events and special events and parties, to turn it into something else.

The whole idea isthat ot has this fantasy element, but has some new-frontier feeling, which I think creates a nice transition between the lands.

I like that idea for the lone ranger ride that was rumored a while back, to go along with the movie there making.

    Re: Hunchback Theatre Replacement Idea

It's a good idea, and many folks here have thought of this as well. But I've become very much against tooning up the lands as of late, so I'll have to say no. It'll definitely make a good ride though, but I think Disneyland has plenty of river attractions already: it's a small world, jungle cruise, canoes, mark twain, pirates of the caribbean, columbia, storybook land, and grizzly river run.

Since Animal Kingdom has a Pocahontas and friends area, maybe this would be a better attraction in that park, teaching guests the importance of respecting the animals and the land around us?
