Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

I missed the humor in it, but the video is cute.

why is it that it's always at the frontierland bridge tht people got crazy over ducks? It's always like this, i'm walking out of Frontierland and some kid screams "duck!!" it's like... "what? there's a castle? I'm sorry i'm just pretty pre-ocupied by this amazing duck in the pond! what? a matterhorn mountian? did you see this duck? look at it!!"

I know this might kill the thread but . . .

I've heard from a cast member that they tell people not to touch the ducklings. It's not because of sanitation issues or whatever, it's because of your smell. The ducklings will have your smell if you touch them and their mothers won't want them anymore so they . . . err fall off the trail of life.

Cute video though, I remember passing through to Frontierland one morning and I saw three sets of ducklings and their mothers. I just had to get photos.

This is kind of the same syndrome that affected people at the Wild Animal Park back when they had the monorail. The tour guide would be like, "...this animal lives 5,000 miles away and and there's only 40 of them left" and then there'd be a squirrel off to the side and people would marvel at the squirrel! Good times on that monorail, curse Wild Animal Park for removing it!

This video is AWESOME! I love cute little ducks, especially the baby ducklings.

Because kids intuitively know that the ducklings are actually more amazing than a stucco castle or mountain.

While working at the gate one day I saw a security guard escorting a mama duck and her ducklings through the DCA gates (the large one at the end used for park closing and strollers too large for the regular gates.). Everyone crowded around them wanting to touch but he kept them at bay for fear that the mama wouldn't want to care for them if they caught their scent. It was actually a really cute sight seeing a parade of not just baby ducklings but kids and adults too all the way to the pier... =P

Last time I was at DL there was a security guard at Ariel's Grotto with a ziplock bag of Cheerios in his pocket trying to feed or entice a mother duck to move - he used the duck's name. The duck has a specific name. I thought - wow, that's special. I've got to share that with the Micechatters.

If you want to see a bunch of ducks and get a good laugh out of it, ride the Storybook Canal Boats at night. There will be so many ducks just parked on the little islands sleeping. Its pretty funny to see them in the tiny villages.

Exclamation Re: Guests Going Crazy for Baby Ducks

Wow... there was a lot wrong with that. Come on people, take as many pictures as you'd like but don't feed the ducks, and don't touch the Ducks! This would be a wonderful time for Parents to teach their children about respecting nature...[/rant]

    Ok, I'm done now

Haha my friend and I had a bit of fun looking at baby ducks on Jungle Cruise:

There were baby ducks swimming along side the boat and so my friend and I were like "Look at the duckies! Ooooh!".The guy running it was like "Yes, the rare baby ducks. Far more interesting than the elephant, the hippo, the natives, or me." then we were looked back at him and said "Oh sorry." "Thank you very much." and he continued on with the ride.

Also keep in mind that if you do get too close to the baby ducks you greatly increase your chances of getting attacked by their mother.

This happened last year at DL. A guest got attacked so bad by an adult duck because he or she got too close to the babies that the guest had to go to first aid.

So look at the babies but keep your distance.

Probably not the first time someone had gotten badly billed by Disneyland
