    Club 33 is for Dumbo

    Hello,
Paying $9,000 dollars to join club 33 is bad. $3,000 annually! Then you have to pay at least $70 everytime you go! So guys is it worth it? Its food ! I'd surely rather go to burger king and save some good cash. If you are willing to pay $350 for a family buffet then fine. It just hurts yourself. I'd rather go buy a 2009 Nissan Murano.

Guess you'll just be one less person on the waiting list to get in.

If you have expendable cash, live near by, and you are a Disney nut, for some it will be worth it.

    To each their own.

It is really no different than buying a country club membership. Local ones here are in the $20k range to buy the initiation fee, another 5K a year, and you HAVE to spend so much a month on golf and meals there, or you are CHARGED the difference! Just because you belong, doesn't mean you get to golf and eat free. You pay still. At least you aren;t required to spend a minimum amount each month at Club 33.

Just like anything in life, if you have the money to spend and you see personal value in a Club 33 membership, then by all means go for it. If it's not worth it to you and it's outside your budget, no problem there either. No one's forcing you to join.

Personally, I'd be content to just get a lunch invite to Club 33 from a long lost cousin or an as yet unknown best friend.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I'd love to go just to see this place, but sometimes, it's like these ads in the middle of the forum threads...useless.

Sorry, I hate coming to MiceChat and seeing these ads everywhere.
Took mom to Disneyland for the first time in over 20 years this week! Woo!

Without the ads, there wouldn't be a MiceChat to come to. Ad revenue helps cover the cost of running the site.

    OK......back on topic now....

Obviously there are a lot of people willing to spend that much. Seen the waiting list?

Basic economics here, really. If there were no members and waiting list, the cost would go down.

What give each person happiness is relative. For me, if I had my choice of Club 33 or a Murano, I'd be driving my Camry a few more years...

I'm not so sure the majority of the club members are even Disney afficianados so much as rich people who enjoy a prestigious and expensive dinner club in a place where most people would DIE to join.

It's a status thing. As far as Orange County goes, it's an understandable one.

I'd like to say that if I had the money I'd spend it on more socially responsible things but I can't say that would really be the case. Sure, it's a waste of money but if you have money to waste...

I think you would be surprised at the number of people who are on waiting lists for country club type memberships and are willing to pay that much. With Club 33, it's one line you can't cheat and cut into.

Re: Club 33 is for Dumbo

What's up with the thread title? Making assumption on the intelligence of the club's members is completely unecessary. Many of the membersips are sold to corporations where the dues are a business expense. Often times, they'll use the club to entertain clients and/or associates (Burger King doesn't WOW them the way Club 33 does). That's why clubs (yacht clubs, social clubs & Club 33) can charge what they charge and stay in business.
