What year do you want to go to Disneyland?

If you had a time machine, and could visit Disneyland in any year you wanted, what year would you choose and why? I would pick 1975. That way I could see America Sings again, see the original Fantasyland, ride Nature's Wonderland, see the original Golden Horseshoe, the Country Bear Jamboree, Adventure through Inner Space, and watch America on Parade.

If I could go any where and time... I would go to every major event held at Disneyland... One of the things that I have always loved about Disney is the history...

Probably 1956 or 1957, with everything original but most of the first year kinks worked out. A close second would probably be just before 1966/67 so I could see the park without NOS and the 1967 version of the new Tomorrowland.

Incidentally, this brings up an idea hopefully Datameister or some other creative people will do: build renderings of the park as they were in history: especially 1955-58, 1959-1966, etc.

Guess I'm lucky because I worked there that year, and got to see all of those things. Of course, we don't seem to know what we have, until we've lost it. 1975 marked the beginning of Space Mountain's construction - a real boon to our morale in the midst of a recession and sagging attendance at the time.

I'd pick 1967 - so I could relive the thrill of riding Pirates and seeing the new Tomorrowland - and kissing my 12-year old "date" as our Skyway bucket passed through the Matterhorn. What memories.

let me just say...that's adorable! sigh, I wish the Skyway was still around. I never got to ride it.

I can't believe I'm the first person to suggest this, but I want to go to 2013 and see what's become of DCA.

Going in the other direction, I'd like to go back to 1997, when I was a teenager, and revisit the days of us spooky, death-rock and post-punk kids meeting up each Friday night and hanging out at what we then called "chowder" and going on anonymous makeout sessions in the Mack-Shack (aka Haunted Mansion).

Great question! Honestly, if I had a time machine, I'd want to visit Disneyland again and again for every single new addition. I'm not even joking--I'd do it without hesitation. However, I guess the 1975 visit would be a nice "happy medium" between the present and the unfamiliar underwhelmingness of the park in 1955. But given the chance to go a few times, I'd go first in 1960, then in '75, then on June 2, 1992--the date of my very first trip to the park. I know, I know. I'm a newcomer compared to some of y'all.

I don't know I have memories going back to 1965 and have been in the park every year since. Honestly I couldn't pick one time, rather I would like the impossible like the Mine train and BTMRR at the same time. Skull Rock in the Fantasyland remodel.
