Re: Guy Fieri from the Food Network invades DCA Food & Wine Festival

Great pics and report! I have some more from the Sunday night Napa Rose event, where I got to meet him...I'll be sharing those in a separate thread. Kathleen and I are huge Food Network fans too!

Re: Guy Fieri from the Food Network invades DCA Food & Wine Festival

I saw Guy at the Hearthstone lounge on Sunday evening and I felt really bad for the guy... Everyone was going up to him when he was just trying to grab a drink with his buddy... He finally bolted out of there due to the fact that he couldn't even sit down at the bar... I hate it when people do that stuff... Its one thing if he is at an event where he is there for pictures, autographs and meet and greets... but if a guy is just trying to sit down and have a drink leave him alone he is not working...

Maybe he should have ducked out to TGI Fridays (His new endorsement thing, ya know)

As we were making our way back over to Napa Rose, we saw him heading for the GCH pool at about ten minutes to 6PM so at least right then he wasn't slaving over a hot stove.

Of course, SNR, you are absolutely right. Unfortunately, (not that I would know for first-hand, mind you) that's what goes along with fortune and fame these days...part of the deal, although it doesn't always have to be.

OFF TOPIC - real nice to see you if ever so briefly on Sunday.

Yes it was very nice to see you as well... I would have loved to hang out more however the last few times Skywaygrl and her family have come down I haven't been able to spend a lot of time with them so I was really enjoying spending some quality time with them...

That's so awesome! I'm always watching Food Network and Guy is one of my favorite personas. I love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Looks like you had a bunch of fun!

Love his shows too. I never remember to watch anything, always forget that's why I got Tivo (well actually it's the cable version, but works the same way.)

Re: Guy Fieri from the Food Network invades DCA Food & Wine Festival

Glad you guys enjoyed!

A funny side story.
So Grumpibell and i walk up to our turn to meet Guy and get photos and he's all loud and got a huge grin.
So he asks me my name and i tell him. So this is what he says to me OMG "You have the most beautiful smile! You were the first person i noticed when i walked out! It's just soo bright and beautiful!"

OMG! I seriously almost passed out from sheer joy after he said that and I was blushing soo bad!! OMG!!!!
Seriously the best day ever!

Re: Guy Fieri from the Food Network invades DCA Food & Wine Festival

My uncle talked to him at Disneyland. He asked him about his show "Diners, Drive In's and Dives" (about how much of the food he eats.) He laughed and said he only takes a bite or two of the food. Said that his waistline couldn't handle all that food!
