I also vote all of them. Buzz is just weak in terms of a ride that should be extremely immersive, but its not.

Whinny the Pooh, well thats pretty much all I have to say. Its the weakest WDI has ever gone.

and Monsters Inc was just a simple overlay of Superstar Limo, which at the time was the worst ride WDI has ever made.

I haven't ride Midway Mania, I am giving it a chance but from the video I don't really find it appealing to me. We will see in a few short weeks come the CM previews.

Re: Which of these latest attractions do you think was the biggest waste of time?

    Hmm... of the four...

Monsters, Inc Mike & Sulley To the Rescue is a slow dull retelling of the movie, forced into Hollywood Pictures Backlot. Horrible exterior and queue, cabs for no real reason at all, no moving mouths on the characters. It is much better than Superstar Limo but anything would have been better than that.

Toy Story Midway Mania is another interactive 3D video game ride but the theme is in a Midway and it's located in Paradise Pier. It replaced Maliburritos and Strips & Dip. The exterior building is gorgeous.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is an interactive ride and though it has its issues with a cheap queue and art, it's a fun ride. The main problem for me is the fact that somehow we are reduced to the size of a toy rather than seeing the REAL Buzz Lightyear. Being a toy, it brings the guest to MODERN times and we are reminded by that with the Etch-a-Sketch. If this were the REAL buzz lightyear, then it would be a futuristic space ranger and the attraction would have more staying power.

Winnie the Pooh. Slow hulky vehicles, disjointed story and scenes, annoying vehicle movement, worst Pooh in the whole world behind Tokyo, Florida, and Hong Kong. Big vehicles mean less show scenes and less track to travel. A lot was cut out to make our Pooh ride and it really is too bad. In this instance, i would have been happy with an actual clone. Oh and plus, this is in Critter Country. Pooh and friends are stuffed animals. Not the live critters the land is intended on supporting.

Pooh is the biggest waste of time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Midway Mania isn't open yet...

I vote for winnie the pooh, it feels like a modern day attempt at a dark ride that wasn't pulled off all that well. bring back the singing bears!

Pooh is a great character and property and has made billions for Disney - - yet they couldn't be bothered to reinvest in the superior Tokyo version of a ride. Now they pay the price. Other problems with Disneyland's Pooh: displacing classic Country Bears with low tech dark ride. Inappropriate location for theme in Frontierland. Bad execution and show design.

If this thread itself doesnt count, I vote for Pooh
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

I'm not going to address the issue of the capacity of any single ride. But looking at the overall picture.

    Rides beyond an intermediate thrill.
DCA 3 TOT, CA Screamin, Maliboomer
    DHS 2. TOT, RnR
    Epcot 1 MS
    AK 1 Expedition Everest
    Disneyland 0.
    MK 0

DCA actually leads in this category

    Intermediate thrill rides
Disneyland 7 Indy, Space, Splash, Big thunder, Matterhorn, Star tours, Pirates
MK 3 Splash, Big thunder, Space
    DCA 2. Soarin, GRR
    Epcot 2 Soarin, Test Track
    DHS 1 Star Tours
    AK 2 Kali, Dinosaur

Disneyland is the clear #1 in this category, but beyond that, DCA holds its own.

    Total thrill rides beyond mild.
    Disneyland 7
    DCA 5
    MK 3
    Epcot 3
    DHS 3
    AK 3

Again, once you get beyond Disneyland, DCA more than holds its own here.

DCA has a very good mix of thrill rides imo. Its biggest problem is, once you get beyond these, it is too much filler, and not enough of those quality themed rides designed for the whole family that have been Disneyland's bread and butter for so many years. Another problem is 2 of its thrill rides have no theming at all and many of their other rides have the same problem. The Racers will give it another intermediate thrill ride and every indication is the theming of this will be nice. And Midway Mania and Mermaid will give it some family ride depth, the latter being well themed.

So imo, the new additions are going to address one of what I would consider to be DCA's weak areas.

Yah, I don't understand the 9 voting for Midway Mania.

    a) it's not open yet!

    b) It actually fits in its land!

    c) It's an original creation for DCA!

    d) Of all the lands that should have an interactive midway game ride, Paradise Pier is it!

Does it? The "gimmick", the concept of the attraction vehicle and interactivity--that fits, more or less. But what does Toy Story have to do with Paradise Pier?

I voted for Winnie the Pooh. I still remember the first time I rode that ride--when I exited, I thought to myself, "....WTF was that?"

I actually love BLAB, but that may be because I'm a twenty-something who roadtrips to Disneyland with her friends and likes being competitive with them. I enjoy the Monsters, Inc ride as well, but perhaps that's because that movie is one of my favorites. And I don't think it's fair to judge Midway Mania until I've ridden it myself.

I'll give you that. I agree that the 'toy story' aspect is shoe-horned in. But the ride itself fits. The Toy Story element is just another marketing ploy. I'd personally rather see the classic disney characters filling this attraction, including the old school ones like Horace, etc.

I agree, I'm not really into Winnie the Pooh but if I were a kid around the age 3 to 10 I think I'd like it more.

Re: Which of these latest attractions do you think was the biggest waste of time?

It was between Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Monsters Inc: Mike and Sully to the Rescue for me, and this is why:

I don't like Buzz in Tomorrowland. No, I don't have an idea what I DO want, but I KNOW that I DON'T want buzz. I think there are tons of better attraction ideas for Hollywood Pictures Backlot (Great Movie Ride, Silly Symphonies, Philharmagic, Roger Rabbit, Dick Tracey, Mickey Mouse and the Gang, a Muppet RIDE, Rocketeer...)

As for The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh, I kinda like it. I think it's enjoyable. It doesn't seem too inferior to the Fantasyland dark rides. I think most of the complaints is that its not Pooh's Honey Hunt from Tokyo Disneyland but you have to realize that it was built at the begining of new growth at Disneyland, had to be open for the 50th, and had to fit inside an exsisting showbuilding. I think it's a fun little attraction, especially for those who are nervous or too small for Splash Mountain. While I do miss the Country Bears, I don't feel like I have been jipped. Perhaps the Country Bears can move into California Adventure...they're quite fit for that.

Af for Toy Story Mania, I cannot judge it without riding it, but form teh outside is has greatly improved the atmosphere in Paradise Pier.

I'm not going to judge Midway Mania until I ride it three times. First for a non-biased pure enjoyment ride, second to find the bad, third to find the stuff I like.

I love BLAB even though it's basically the shooting range in Frontierland (but you're moving & it's free) just because Buzz Lightyear is one of my favorite chacters.

Monsters, Inc. is a great dark ride!

I voted for Winnie the Pooh. I think it's neat that it feels like you're in a boat but I think if it were added it should have been to critter country and to leave the Country Bears in frontierland. Also, I really dislike Pooh. He's just too absentminded *dumb* for me.
