Exclamation The Disneyland Resort Touch-Up Thread

As it's been pointed out in previous postings and pictures, sometimes blemishes around the Disneyland Resort go unnoticed. I'm not talking about what needs to be done to improve the park, I'm talking about things like vandalism, missing paint, and other things that are blatant and in full view of the general public around the Resort.

Maybe the reason some of these things take so long to get fixed is because some of the CM's that see it forget to point it out. So what have you seen around TDR lately that needs a little TLC?

    TDR?

That confusion aside, I don't think we really need a thread where we can all complain about the horrible upkeep of the park. If something particularly horrible comes up for a long time--e.g. Space Mountain's "skidmarks"--it seems appropriate to discuss it, but asking for complaints about a park that's kept more spotless than any other comparable property I've ever seen...not my cup of tea.

TDR = The Disneyland Resort. If there's some other way to abbreviate it, then I apologize as I'm still somewhat new, here.

Someone who posts updates on a regular basis on Miceage once pointed out a door that had a big spot of missing paint that had been that way for a while. Not long after, it got fixed. I'm not talking about knit-picking here and there about every little thing. But whether you love TDR or not, it's not perfect and sometimes things go unnoticed.

Ah, gotcha. No apology necessary; it takes a while getting used to the acronyms. We usually use DLR instead of TDR. (A lot of the acronyms starting with T tend to have to do with the Tokyo resort, since "the" usually doesn't make it into the widely-used acronyms.)

That's wonderful that it got fixed, though I'm inclined to believe it probably wasn't the result of the MiceChat post. Large-scale assaults on Pressler-era decay could have been effective, I'm sure, but a single post about a specific problem isn't likely to be noticed by the janitorial staff and the ones they report to, methinks. Could be wrong.

I don't think maintenance is Tomorrowland's big problem. Space Mountain's indoor queue has suffered, but other than that, I'm mostly seeing a lot of very clean, well-maintained thematic cacophony.

The area itself is very clean, however a lot of the structures have paint chips missing or graffiti scribes in the poles and tables.

The railing in the Autopia queue could use a fresh coat of paint.

They need to put the back-scratching bear back along the edge of the Rivers of America.

They just removed him about two weeks ago.....

I also think the BTMR goat is still undergoing refurbishment but he'll be back

He's been back for a few months now.

Last time I rode Alice in Wonderland the paint on the queue railings were all worn out, but maybe that's fixed now.

I think that bear has been gone for a lot longer than two weeks -- unless he came back briefly and then was removed again.

It's been at least a few months, if not a lot longer.

Re: The Disneyland Resort Touch-Up Thread

They really need to do something about Space Mountain's queue. The walls that are angled are practically black after all the kids run over them. Why are they painted white and why aren't there signs telling people to stay off? The floor is also a big problem even though they changed the pattern once. It should be totally replaced with something that is smooth and doesn't trap all the dirt from people's shoes. Another problem was all the chipped paint which hasn't been taken care of. The queue chains should be reconfigured to stay away from these trouble areas and the starcade windows because it creates a mess.
