    A look at the Ariel's Grotto changes - 8/16/05

    http://darkbeer.smugmug.com/gallery/736637

A few comments, first off there is now only ONE Menu, good all day (Lunch and Dinner... same price).

They seat in a cycle, basically trying to rotate the restaurant every 45 minutes to an hour.... Once all the groups are seated, they send the servers out to serve (about 6 tables per server), and after that, they start the Princesses rotating the tables, they were using one page, and a entertainment CM to prepare the tables to get ready to get autographs, etc... as the goal for the Princesses is 40 seconds per table! Now with 6 princesses, that is 4 minutes each (not bad), but it does seem a bit rushed....

The menu is about the same, and the one price does include dessert.. not a bad deal, especially compared to Goofy's Kitchen....

I would go and enjoy as a special treat.....

What happened to the talk of the princesses being in alternate costumes? I was really looking forward to seeing them all in clothes that they wear for more than 10 minutes in the movies, but no such luck, apparently.

I think the talk was that Ariel was going to appear with legs and in a dress, which would be an alternate costume for her.

She looks nice sans-fin by the way.

    OMG-
when we were there in July my daughter was crushed, just devistated that Ariel was not there anymore...so though we have no trip planned in the forseeable future I showed her your pictures anyway...she flipped,
She said..."Oh good, she's back, that's soooooooooo much better" I reminded her that it will be a very long time before we go back, she said "that's Ok, Ariel's back and that's a good thing, I'm Happy"

so Darkbeer, from Tinkerbelle and my little pixie, thank you for posting pictures that really made her day.

When viewing the menu and seeing all the Princesses on the cover, each one is dressed in the exact same dress they wear when they do their *meet-n-greet*. But Ariel's picture shows her in her pink dress, yet she's in a seafoam green attire...why?

Don't get me wrong, I think her dress is beautiful and I'm stoked that she's *human* now, that's awesome!! But I'm just curious why that color and not her pink dress? Perhaps she would clash with Sleeping Beauty. Anyway, kudos to Disney for allowing Ariel to finally have legs!!!

Ok, I want that dress and I want to be Ariel...NOW!!!!!!!!!! I loved Ariel so much when I was little, and I'd gladly be her (if I had been able to audition, long story), but I don't like the idea of the fins...I want to be Ariel *whining ensues*

They really jumped the price..I mean $20.99, yikes! Figure that the Wolfette and I (with maybe a beer included) could run upwards around the range of $50.00! Princesses are always a nice attraction, but I don't think I can justify the price. It jumped quite a bit!

As long as the food is good, the price is good. Just look at the BB! 25-30$ a plate, and so VERY worth every penny. With or without the Pricesses. My wife and I had the Breakfast Buffet at Goofy's Kitchen, it sucked, and was about 20$ a plate!

So the question is, how is the FOOD!?

P.S. I would think Airal would frown on seefood. Nothing like a little Flounder and Crab cakes.

Food is very good.....but I can get away with under $30.00 (for the 2 of us) at BB for lunch, maybe not dinner, but I usually go for lunch anyway.

How much does it cost to go there for lunch? Is it all princesses now all the time? I'm trying to figure out when to go, my friend would love this she's a big princess fan.

By the way, the dinner price on the old menu was $20.99. The lunch prices were $16.99. I think previously, it was $2 less for children's food. So there' nto much difference, except that instead of switching the menus, there is one menu all day.
