    Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough Soundtrack

I've been meaning to do this for a long time, and I finally got around to it. I finally was able to sit down and put together a "demo" soundtrack of sorts for the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough. Knowing that music is vital to any attraction, I had always wanted to find a soundtrack for it. When Disneyland released the music library for the 50th, I was really hoping that it would make it on one of those CDs, but it didn't. So, after some research (and a little bit of memory work) I finally compiled a musical track that is very similar to the one heard inside the Castle. Surprisingly, there are very few parts of the original score that made it into the Castle. This is most likely because of the confined space causing the audio to mesh. I was able to get most of the music and most of the sound effects and make a working soundtrack out of them. This is a pretty accurate track, but it's not there yet. It still needs work to be completely accurate, but that's for another time. I now have a soundtrack to evoke the fond memories I have of the attraction, and now you do too!

Let me know what you think. Like I said this isn't the final product. It's basically a test piece I put together in a few minutes. If anybody has any suggestions or comments, let me know. I sincerely hope you enjoy it!

ORDDU: As my sisters and I recall, the only music ever heard during the walk thru was taken directly from the motion picture sound track--except that the singing voices for the Once Upon a Dream number were lifted--leaving the guest with only instrumentals. The major exception was at the end of the walk-thru for the final dancing scene, at which point vocals were allowed to be heard as the finale for Once Upon a Dream was played.

Well, that must NOT have been the original walk-thru from 1957, because the movie didn't come out until after it was opened. And, I don't recall any dancing scene in the original, only in the "doll" version done in the 70's.

ORDDU: And you would be correct, bfd55, duckling. We were referring only to the remade version of the walk thru. While my sisters and I DID get to see the original walk thru, our memories of what sort of music was played for it are totally blank.

I'd really like to find out more about the original's soundtrack etc.

I did, but I didn't get any sleep. I have been playing it a lot too! I just have such fond memories of this attraction. I am glad that others are enjoying this little soundtrack as much as I am.

Very enjoyable. I wish Disney would dip into their archives and put out a nice book or DVD on the original. I think it has an audience these days.

Thanks for all the compliments, guys! I am glad you are all enjoying this! It really makes the effort worthwhile. I think I will go back and re-do this one. A Youtube poster pointed out I forgot the flames, which I knew I did after uploading it. I'll let you all know when it's updated. Thanks again for all the kind words!
