Animagique will replace the Aladdin Musical [Rumor]

    Hey everybody,

I just found out from wikipedia that the Aladdin musical will be replaced by Animagique in 2009 or 2010. It's also going to be at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Disney World. I know some of you will be very disappointed about it if it is official. But, before you decided to object, let me explain what Animagique is about. It's a live show with dark scenery where Donald Duck opens up the animation vault and a timeline of Disney classics bursts to life on stage. It's from Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris. First, I found proof on this link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney%...al_Spectacular and here's more information:http://www.dlrpmagic.com/guides/walt...gique/#InBrief

Here are also some videos of them from Dailymotion and youtube:

On the end of Animagique part 2 at dailymotion, you'll see some of the previous concept art pictures that didn;t make it and possibly may be added.

I agree, but with all of the expanding, Who Knows? Right? It looks like a pretty cool show, though.

If that's the replacement, i'm cool with it. I'll need proof from somewhere other than wikipedia though.

It's a bit of a bummer though, because the Genie in Aladdin always made the show fun and new. His jokes that referred to current pop culture or news always made the show fresh no matter how many times you saw it.

I highly doubt this will happen. Especially at Hollywood Studios.

Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source. I've seen accurate info there before and I've seen info that is nowhere near the truth.

Not trusting in wiki for confirmation of this.

Besides, Why would they use they Hyperion for this. They Hyperion is really designated for Broadway style shows. IF Disney is considering this, it would seem they would use the Muppet Theater instead, which was originally planned to be replaced. (Although I don't want to lose the Muppets attraction.)

Because Animagique is a broadway-like show.

Re: Animagique will replace the Aladdin Musical

Animagique is more a dark light show like DHS's The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. And I thought it was originally designed for Paris because their daylight hours are different from the US's... Animagique was meant to be Paris' Fantasmic.

The Muppet Theater would indeed be a better suited area. But didn't TDA say they didn't want more "shows", they wanted "rides".

The current Aladdin really is more of the "broadway" style show 100x more than Animagique, unless it's going a different route in the US.

I also couldn't help seeing that the most reliable source was wiki.

Animagique would be more reflective of the shows produced in the Los Angeles theatre district.

I'm not familiar with Animagique, so my first reaction is that it looks interesting and weird at the same time. Don't trust wikipedia though.

Yeah, sorry about that. I know sometimes that wikipedia isn't telling the truth. And I don't know how did wikipedia got that from. Maybe I need to start looking. In the meantime, Happy Memorial Day.

Animagique is definitely not the same quality at "Aladdin" or "Blast". Or even "Steps in Time" which did some Broadway Style Disney Songs from Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book , and Snow White (Before Eisner screwed with the show).

Animagique is really more suited to the Muppet theater or an enclosed Fantasyland Theater. If fact, Animazement at the Fantasyland Theater was somewhat similar in style, but better than Animagique. (with using black light effects, as mentioned by filmfreak)
