A Memorial Day Quest For Indiana Jones

Memorial Day 2008 took my daughter and I to Disneyland in search of all things Indy.

First we spotted this intriguing sign.

Next, daughter had to run from a rolling boulder.

Would we find him on the Jungle Cruise? We found a crate upstairs addressed to Dr. Jones

We found animals

and a black umbrella

and a sign of the Crystal Skull

Yes! Coming off Jungle Cruise we see that Dr. Jones will be here as a special guest speaker

We make ourselves comfortable and look around us

What?! Dr. Jones can not make it. Instead we meet a young woman who says she is an archaeologist and needs our help deciphering the codes in Dr. Jones book in order to find a golden top to a staff.

She certainly is animated.

After receiving help from some of the children in attendance Dr. Jones appears from the fog through the tigers mouth

Is this young woman who she really says she is?

With an upper cut to the jaw by Indy, I don't think so

Hummm, there's that fog in the tiger's mouth. Guess what happens to her.

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Now on to find the map

Which takes us to the roof tops of adventure land

Looks like the bad guy has the upper hand

No, wait ... Indy prevails

Next we go over to a balcony.

That bad guy is persistent but Indy has some pretty good moves

Next the bad guy races over to the tree house where the fight continues on the bridge.

Finally, Indy has the map

And it's never too soon to be Indiana Jones

Apparently you missed the umbrella and the crate containing the ark.

Actually, I did get a photo of the umbrella - it's just kind of dark. I saw the crate but was not in a position to get a photo of it. Also, our guide never made mention of Indy in the jungle. I understood that they were supposed to be doing that. Oh, well.

Being that this all happens in a place called "Adventureland," I think that Indy's streetmosphere antics are a perfect complement to Disneyland!

Great TR! I really wanted to see the show on Monday but it looked so crowded that I didn't think that my son would be willing to wait for or sit through the show, but your TR made me feel like I was right there
