toy story preview question
okay.. so i've won a spot in the toy story mania annual passholder sneak peek. now, i've got a cheapo socal passport, the kind where you can only go during certain phases of the moon and also alternate leapyears. the date of my fabulous preview is june 11. well.. i'm blacked out like midnight in a coal mine on that day. anyone here know if i'm gonna have to upgrade? or buy a one day pass? the language is kind of vague... just says you have to present a valid disneyland resort annual passport. i know that if there is an answer, it will be found here, amongst the 'disneyrati' (copyright2008)
Re: toy story preview question
You will have to buy a blackout day ticket which is $40.
Re: toy story preview question
You need to buy a block out date pass, which is $40. You will need to go to the ticket booth and tell them you want to buy a block out date pass. They will check your pass to make sure. Plus you have to pay $12 for parking.
Re: toy story preview question
wow... that was fast (head spinning) thanks for the info... would it cost more than forty bucks to upgrade to the next pass level, i wonder?

It depends on what you paid for your SoCal Select to start with. If you paid $129 for it, it is EXACTALLY $40 to upgrade to the SoCal. And you still get to get into the parks that day as well.
Re: toy story preview question

to brag? moi? is there such a limited number of spots available that bragging is an option? i had no idea. i thought these were sent out in about the same volume as those lovely notices i keep getting from the Nigerian banks where hundreds of millions of dollars (US) are just waiting to be transferred to my account.
Re: toy story preview question
okay... i just read on (cough) another disney site that although they're keeping it quiet, you won't have to buy a blockout date pass if you have a socal select and have admission for wednesday or thursday... can anyone confirm this? thanks.. m
Re: toy story preview question
I heard the same now from a few sources so I think it's true and I'm extremely angry about it as I didn't check those days when I entered the contest. This is BS!!!!
Re: toy story preview question
There is this interesting block of text at the bottom of my preview ticket I got today.
"This voucher, along with a valid annual pass, will be valid for admission to Disney's California Adventure Park only."
HMMMMMMM

From Mouseplanet DLR update:
"Finally, in an "silent" change to the published policy, winners who hold a SoCal or SoCal Select passport will not need to purchase a blockout day pass if they won a preview on Wednesday or Thursday"
