    Rod Miller

I know he retired two years ago... but I always enjoyed stopping by his piano and talking with him for a few minutes. I would always try to catch the fireworks with him too- it always amazed me how much he enjoyed them.

Basically, I was just wondering if anyone here on Micechat knows him well and knows how he is doing? It's been a while since I had heard anything about him, and well, a search of the internet turned up dry.

I wish I knew. Rod really was/is something. I hope his retirement is treating him very well.

I worked Coke Corner for 2 years (1980-82ish) and adored Rod. Our crew would have SO much fun with him! When I quit, my friends and I (Rod included) had one of those pictures taken that looked like we were all on the train. Now....where did I put that picture??

Besides his mastery of piano, he is an avid orchid grower and loves to talk about them. I believe he is in the Garden Grove area. Check the site that Izzy gave - I think he may have more than just the one CD. You can also hear his music over at uabmagic.com for free - just request one of his songs.

(yes, I know some people don't want other sites listed - but, it's not my site, it is free, you can listen to the music while you visit MC---> to get even more of a DisFix)

Eddie: You mean to tell me you could have taken your hand out of those cuffs at any time?
Roger: Not at any time. Only when it's funny.

I know he loves going to Hawaii. Maybe he's playing his tunes over there now.

Yeah, he has two CD's, Ragtime, in which he plays some of his favorites.

Fourhand Piano is the other CD. Here is the link for all the items they have

On the Fourhand Piano, whatever happened to Thompson (sorry, I forgot his first name). He played at DL for awhile after Rod retired, but I haven't seen Thompson for a long time.

I do miss Rod, too. He was always so friendly, and Main Street hasn't been the same without him!

I'm happy to report that Rod is doing well. I talked to him several weeks ago. He has been keeping busy growing Plumeria as he has for years. He still visits the park on a regular basis - usually on weekends.

You can find some video of him at YouTube.

Keep Rod in your thoughts - don't ever forget him - Disneyland will never be the same without him.

Alan. He was fired for posting some unflattering things about Disneyland management. I don't know if it was this board or another.

Thanks for the update Sulley, thats good to hear

Next time you talk to him, tell him that water polo player from Newport that always used to visit on occasion says hi. He might remember, he might not...

Sulley, thanks for the update on Rod.

Sorry to hear about Alan. I really liked how he combined Bumble Bee Boogie with Grim Grinning Ghosts. Hope he's doing well too.
