Angry Bizarre ride and very bad show on Monsters, Inc!

On Monday, I rode Monsters Inc at DCA, and what a ride it was! Imagine riding through these show scenes past silent, motionless characters and sets. That was it: no animatronics working, no dialogue tracks, nothing but background music. As soon as I got off the ride, I told the CM, who apologized and said, "We know." I didn't say anything to him, but in my mind, I was thinking, "Excuse me? Then why don't you go 101 and call Facilities? I realize this is only a couple hours before park closing (6 PM for an 8 PM closure), but what are you thinking?"

So I told the greeter outside the same thing: no movement, no dialogue. Apparently, he hadn't heard about it, so he went inside immediately. I came back a few minutes later, only to find the ride still open. I just walked away shaking my head.

Call me a "foamer," but I just don't see any excuse for keeping a ride open when it's half broken.

Odd, they should at least cycled out and finish up the line. They need to fix the problem no matter how close to closing it is.

It would be interesting to see how many people got off thinking that was how the ride was designed.

This could happen at Disneyland too. So don't bash DCA just because of this isolated incident.

I've never heard of anything like this happening in Disneyland. Seems like they shut down rides pretty quick if somethings not right in Walt's park.

It happened to me on the Submarine Voyage when I was there in early May.

Floating through character-less show scenes with background music. Even after informing a couple of CM's there was no sign of them giving any attention to the matter while we sat and had breakfast at Tomorrowland Terrace.

Apparently it happens at both destinations.

I was on HM last year before it switched to HMH and the music in the attic -- you know, the wedding march that is played on the piano by the shadow figure -- kept skipping.

I informed the CM at the unload and she said, "It's doing that again? Thanks. We'll have someone check the disc again.".

This is a much better response than you got.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I rode HM and had everything working. On Sunday the audio from the floating candelabra to the ballroom scene was out.

So please, it's not just a "DCA" thing.

I thought all audio was stored in a master hard drive type server near the mansion?

I thought that they went digital a few years ago? There shouldn't be a disk in the HM????

I agree the everyone, they should have let the ride go 101 if they were having these kinds of problems.

I would guess that somewhere there is a guide to when a ride should go 101 and what they should do, maybe someone has a copy of this?

People must have been freaking out. The Nemo lines are ridiculous most of the time, and then to go through the ride with no Nemo? Was it mayhem?
