Star Wars Weekends at Disneyland. How and When??

I'm a Star Wars nerd. I'm a Disney nerd. And when I saw pictures of Florida's Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios, I was just insanely jealous. Not only do they have a walk-around Jedi Mickey and other Star Wars characters, but now they have Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in the get-up as well!

Minnie Mouse is Princess Leia (a new hope), Donald is in his Stormtrooper outfit, and Goofy is in darth vader outfit but with mickey boxers. It's just hilarious!

So I was thinking.. HOW can we get it to work at Disneyland?? It really is just way too crowded, but WHAT IF they had it this year. How would they achieve it?

Star Tours is already in Tomorrowland along with Star Trader shop. And the Jedi Training Academy is at the Tomorrowland Terrace.

What other areas could be utilized for this kind of event if they held it right now? I thought of a few areas that could work:

-Imagination Institute theater -- Now it's playing everyone's favorite "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" but it could also work as a place where the opening ceremonies takes place, along with the Clone Wars preview that they're having now in Florida.

-Starcade -- The bottom floor could be an extension of the Star Trader shop where guests can find Star Wars weekends exclusive merchandise. The top floor can be used for Star Wars celebrity autographs.

-Space Mountain exterior queue area -- The queue of Space Mountain can be adjusted so there's more space on the top deck for more autograph stations if the top floor of the Starcade isn't enough.

-Innoventions -- An area of Innoventions can also be utilized to help out in the Star Wars weekends promotion if they so chose to do so. Perhaps the exhibit that showcases the props, costumes, and models used in the actual Star Wars films can be on display here.

And if all that doesn't work...

Big Thunder Ranch! Sure, it's far away from Tomorrowland, but it has the space for a lot of what's needed for something like this. The area kinda looks like GEONOSIS (in ep2) anyway!

Alright so that's my pitch. Who's with me? Or good luck, I'm gonna need it.

Cool Re: Star Wars Weekends at Disneyland. How and When??

I'm with you 100%!!! If this happens, they should have a Star Wars Parade. Then you could see all of the characters from all 6 movies all at once.

Combining the disney pantheon of characters with Lucas' makes both look ridiculous, IMO.

As much as I'd love to see all you trekkies (or whatever you sci fi folk call yourselves) rounded up at Disneyland for Star Wars days, I don't know if we'll ever see it happen. But for goodness sakes I would really like to see Chewy walking around Tomorrowland!

Haha. I know that but I don't know what Star Wars fans are called. In San Diego when we have Comic Con, the generalization is trekkie.

Really? I've never heard that. I am a sci-fi geek and have never been called a trekkie.

And it's spelled "Chewie", not "Chewy."

Call me a trekkie to my face! ggaaaaaaahah;aldksf;lasdj;lajf!!!!

    :::calms down:::

But yes! Characters! Chewbacca (aka Chewie)!! Ewoks even! At Star Wars weekends they have all types of characters walking around for photo ops and I think the same could be done here for a Star Wars weekends type thing.

The reason I don't want it to be an everyday occurance is because well... this is Tomorrowland and I don't want to give people the impression that it's Star Wars land... more than it already is anyway.

And haha, I'm going to comic-con next month and will laugh at all the freaks. I attend in normal person clothes, thank you very much!

Dude. I would so stand in line for a picture with Jedi Mickey. And if they got the 501st Legion to participate, it would be way awesome. After seeing Denise's photos, I may have to try going to FL someday to check it out.
