Would you trade Autopia for Discovery Bay?

I was looking at Disneyland on Google Earth and I happened to come across the amount of land Autopia takes up. It looks like there is enough room to put the Discovery Bay "land" that was supposed to go near the Rivers of America (I don't know where). It would fit good near Tommorowland and they could make the subs 20k again (will NEVER happen).

So with that being said, would you trade Autopia for Discovery Bay. If price was NO object.

I'd trade Autopia for the old burro ride from Knott's Berry Farm; HECK yeah I'd trade for Discovery Bay!

Yeah, probably, though I think there could be better uses of the space.

No. I think that would be an awkward location for that land. I would much rather see TL fully developed with one unified theme throughout that area.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

No, but I'd gladly give up Big Thunder Ranch and the animatronic Indian Village for Discovery Bay

Re: Would you trade Autopia for Discovery Bay?

Heck yeah! The way to do it would have Discovery bay start where Ariel's grotto is, as another offshoot of the hub. A new Matterhorn queue only on the Discovery Bay side would fit the new theme. I would build the loading station in 2 stories to make up for the loss of the FL side, but make the second story actually below ground to not mess with the scale of the mountain.

Discovery Bay would then encompass that little courtyard and would lead back around the sub building and eventually connect with the path to the TL trainstation. I think the subs belong in Discovery Bay, newly themed of course, so I would have the queue begin from the backside of Discovery Bay and take place mostly where the Autopia load/unload is. The queue would be indoors and themed allowing a nice visual momment once you step out of the building and see the cliffs and lagoon laying before you.

As for other attractions, I'd love to see Journey to the Center of the Earth, but there is no room for such a massive attraction. They could take the same concept, but use it in a smaller ride system. A water coaster type attraction where you are drilling deep, hit an open chamber and crash down into an underground river. You then float along through alien worlds with underground monsters, man-eating plants, and bubbling lava. Towards the end, gysers begin going off all around you and one begins to build under the water. With a huge jet of steam, you vehicle launches up and out. A more Pirates type appraoch to JTTCOTE as opposed to Test Track.

Here is a picture I posted a while ago

So what you see is a:
    * shorter Monorail track
*the People Mover/ Rocket Rod track becomes the additional Journey To the Center of the Earth Track. You enter JTTCOTE at Discovery Bay, but the finale takes you through Tomorrowland
*The Bay area will resemble the Future area of Tokyo Disney Seas
    * The little Mermaid ride takes up the motor boat Cruise
    * The volcano and extra rock work is shown the Mountain would house both Little Mermaid and Journey

    Just my idea

Too bad they're already going to build the Little Mermaid ride at DCA.

Re: Would you trade Autopia for Discovery Bay?

I'm not throwing in my thoughts on the subject just yet but thought I would provide a visual of the space in question. This mock up was done either a year or two ago and would include the Matterhorn, Monorail, and Subs in the acquisition (and the autopia). The entrance to the land would indeed begin directly to the right of Sleeping Beauty Castle where the parade route goes.
