I met Ed Grier in the park today!

Today I was at Disneyland for one last trip before moving back to the Chicago area. I was with my wife, her sisters, and two of our nephews, and as we got off of the Matterhorn and were walking towards the Hub, we passed Ed Grier and I did a double take as I tried to remember why that guy looked familiar. I noticed his "Ed" name tag and stopped in my tracks.
I said "that's the guy in charge of Disneyland!" My nephew wanted to meet him, so we backtracked and I introduced myself and the rest of my family. He chatted with us for a couple minutes and then we went on our way. I looked back and realized that I had completely overlooked the camera crew following him around, and we had probably interrupted them, oops! (Sorry about that Ed, and camera crew)

Anyway, that and seeing my first Disney Cat by the Hungry bear made my last trip to the park for who knows how long a great one!

PS. When I looked back, Mr. Grier was walking and talking with a woman in a light green sun dress. Anyone know what that was about and where that video footage will be used? I think they got us talking with him on tape, and it would be fun to see it someday.

Cool . May I ask, what did you talk about with him? Something about the parks?

And that would suprise you? I've never seen (or heard) of Grier just walking around the parks (like Former CM Matt used to do all the time), unless it's for a promotional stunt - such as the sweeping stunt.

    camera crew... figures.

Senator Ed is back! maybe we should change his name to be TMZ Ed? Or Paparazzi Ed? Any ideas?

The 4 times I've seen him he's never had a camera crew. To each their own I guess on your opinions. I met him while he was sweeping up trash near Small World and he was a nice guy. Wanted to hear our opinions and valued them. Very approachable.

The majority... and I stress majority... of the time I have met Ed it is a camera crew and a "please pose with me for a moment" and then Cast activities informed me that since I am an employee (was at the time not now) they are legally allowed to use my likeness in advertisements.

I saw Ed in Adventureland on the second day of the Summer of Indy promotion. He was with a bunch of other name tag types and there was no camera crew. I didn't approach him, I was more interested in seeing Indy than Ed.

He always has a camera crew with him even if not visible next to him.

He must be out getting ready for the big media event that is being prepared for these next few days.

Well, I never meant for this to be a bad thing. I just thought it was cool that a) he was out in the park, and b) that I recognized him. He seemed really nice to me, and was totally willing to chat with us. As to what it was about, mostly small talk. The whole thing only took about 2 minutes. We were off to our next thing, and we didn't want to be annoying.

exactly whether he had a camera crew or not i think its an incredible oppurtunity to meet the President of the resort. Ed, Matt and Cynthia have always been very talkative with guests when they are aproached in the park.
